👍✌️🙂. I didn't know where his final resting place was. Like in all households in the South, if your Grandparents, your great grand parents, your parents, loved Country music. On the nights certain shows came on that old black and white tube, you were probably sitting on the floor watching too. I was still a kid in the 80s.i remember Mr Wagner always had that smile that made you feel welcomed, like you was in the Audience.had not Dolly decided it was time for her to go out on her own we would not have one of the greatest songs ever written. I will always love you. Porter and Dolly made a Great Team. Once the air cleared, Dolly remained friends with Porter. Once it was announced Porter was Ill . Dolly was there with his family.to show her love and respect that she had for him. Lung cancer is very painful. My Maternal Grandmother passed from Lung cancer. Watching her go through it, was painful for me too. I'm Glad Dolly was there to be a comfort to both Porter and his family. I admit I didn't know where his final resting place was. Now I do. I Thank you. I can't remember anybody else ever doing this. I admit, I was looking for something more elaborate . inside mausoleum.or Crypt. Yet not surprised. He seemed to be a humbled man..since you tube has put a lot Classic shows on here. Maybe one day we will see the Porter Wagoner Show. Introduce him to a New Generation. I would not mind watching what I have missed. Again, Thank You, for going, paying Respect to Mr Porter Wagoner. I might not get a chance to go pay my own respect But through you I feel I just did. by watching you go, take us along, I feel we paid respect together. 👍✌️👊👊👊. Rip Mr Porter Wagoner.🙏🕯️🌻🌹🦋 🌌🌟. Love, respect and positivity always.✌️🖖🌻🌹😁👋.vee,andrew and family.

The flashy suits he wore were fashioned by Nudie Cohn and dubbed "Nudie Suits". Nudie Cohn designed suits for most of the big-name celebrities including Hank Snow, John Wayne, Johnny Cash, Buck Owens, and a slew of others.

If I understood you correctly, you said Norma Jean later became known as Dolly Parton. They are two different ladies. After Norma Jean married and moved back to Oklahoma, she was replaced by Dolly Parton of world-wide fame. If I misunderstood what you said, I apologize.

When Porter was young, he would go around the small towns around West Plains ( I live about 60 miles from WP) My momma lived in the next town over, he had come to town and was pickin and singin on the street corner. He asked my momma out on a date and she turned him down, I never did let her forget about that lol

What a let down to see such an ordinary looking stone! Such a big star should have something a bit more grand. At least something that stands up with some personality. HE certainly had personality! How sad that such a wonderful, famous star would have to have some little flat stone just to make it easier to mow the grass! SMH I got to see Porter in person twice in my life. I have an autographed picture of him on my wall. Always loved his show. He and Dolly put out the best country duets of all time, until she left and eventually turned "pop." I would say he is among my top five all time favorites, others being George Jones, Mel Street, Freddie Hart, and Conway Twitty, (before Conway went pop, like Dolly)
