The 12/2 show at the Boston Music Hall (the night before this interview) is one of my top five Dead shows of all time. Wharf Rat->Mississippi Half-Step->Playing In The Band->He's Gone, whew. That is one of the wildest Playing In The Bands ever! One of my favorite Wharf Rats as well. Absolute at their musical peak, and most consistent. '72-73. In '72, when they had Pigpen AND Keith, it was heaven, but in '73 they definitely went super deep into outer and inner space. Beautiful music. (And great little interview! Not sure if I have this already! Thanks!)

Not only was the Dead incredible musician they had a great scene of humor, always clowning around until they got Dead serious on stage. 🎶☮️🎵
