I was about 15 hear too. Best years of my life
Love this song, all versions and tempos. These concerts were a ton of fun. Got to see some seldom played songs that Vince got them to dust off. 💯🌹🌹🌹
Oh man, who can forget those early 90's mullets before they were called mullet? It was a much better world then. It just was. I think tickets for this show were like 22 bucks. A different planet.
What a great summer that was. The best of times...miss it.
The Grateful Dead were a great band...on that we can agree...and Jerry was great musician. The pedal steel on "Teach your Children" is iconic.
Jerry loves the way both the keyboardists play here, but when vince takes the organ solo he almost sheads a tear remembering Brent, and how he would waiiilll on that shit. Unlike Jerry, I wasn't able to hold back my tears.
I love this song dunt dunt dunt
Thank you, thank you and triple dawg thank you Shortiebighead! Fantastic!
Thanks for the huge smile you just put on my face. My teeth are starting to dry out!
Got some good energy going in this song. Great song and Jer was IN IT.
Just happened on this post out of nostalgia. Was there. This takes me back. The boys were hitting on all cylinders on this tour, and this show. Deer Creek was defly a kind place to see a show back in the day too. Sigh.
you did very well to get away from the heat and you also did very well to generously post your bootlegged footage here. Bless your heart!
Such a great performance!!
I've got more, I've been a little under the weather these days so it's hard to find the time to mess with it. I'll try to up more from this show soon. thanks for commenting. SBH
I was at this show. Great times!,.•*’”✨🎶
This is spiritual. People could learn from this
OMG this is fabulous!
Never missed a Deer Creek show :) Thanks for posting.
this was a rippin first set to kickoff the tour. so cool to have this footage, I was very close to this spot.
This was my first show, and I was standing in almost exactly the spot this footage was taken! Thanks so much for posting this and allowing me to relive it.
Killer video, thanks to whoever recorded it and to whoever posted it on youtube
One of my favorites 💜🌸🌺
Great video, thanks for posting!
Looks like 2 people hit the dislike button on accident. Maybe they thought it was the 'LOVE' button?

Thanks for posting this, it's epic.
Jerry and the Dead combined the US folk music tradition with the instrumental improvisational musical construct pioneered by bebop jazz (John Coltrane and his peers) to create "jam band" music enjoyed predominantly by middle class white kids :)
I was at this show.
love it! nice job!
What a great song
That it beautiful man! Thanks for sharing! I was at that show!
Nice, this is classic!
I remember this!
I've gotta give a big thank you to @shortiebighead for recording this. Seems more intimate and close than almost any other dead video Ive seen on here. I feel like its just me n Jerry hangin' out! Great stuff my man, i commend you for it. Thanks for making this heads' day, dude! :D
Some people will never understand... I pity them.

You are so right!!! What is not to love! OMG
Miss You Jerry!
@Dloomis494 Well, George, I did. Used a Sony Hi 8mm camcorder on a tripod. Dubbed better audio over mine in post production. Surely you can see some similarity to all of my other concert video uploads.Curious, why the doubt?
When they played jack straw and Bruce took bobbys verse out from under him, bob sniled and kaughed and the crowd went fucking bananas. This show was a fine addition to their repertoire of killer performances. Still wish jerry wouldve just took a fucking break and cleaned up.
@nigsvon Thanks, man! It's good to hear that.
@earlejoseph3 Its Bruce Hornsby. He filled in after brent died. He was a huge fan and already knew all the songs. He helped teach them to vince.
Best song ever, mmm well at least myz points of viewz! ; )
You seem like the kind of fair weathered fan that would prefer studio cuts to The Dead's live perfomance's. Such a shame that you ever got to see a show, good or bad. You obliviously DON'T get it. Now run along and go vote for your favorite "Idol" contestant. Shortiebighead was kind enough to post this and some of us are actually appreciative of that.
Excellent video, shortiebighead! And an admirable way of covering what that security did! Got any more from 6-6-91, e.g. the Fire, or more on the way?
sharkboots what a cool name
His hair is lookin good. "Lookin for a SHHHOOOOOOTTT in some di-rec-tion." Love that shit yo.
very clean sound did u dub over the video sound
I was there. hehehe
Full show?
why the "effects" right when Jerry starts to rip ?.
I'm pretty sure that I was standing in this exact spot. What did you record this with? I'm very curious.
IWT 🔥❤️🌹⚡✌️💀
bruce is sick here.
Sirius only, FM blows like this do.
@AdaedA1 Thats where the footage ends.Security was a comin' for me, but as you can see, I did get away.
@shortiebighead If you taped this tune I'm George Bush, and I'm not George Bush.
why ain't Hornsby on the accordion?

@jaobaker That would be me. You are welcome! :P
whats up w/the special effects...............good video til then !!!
@rbl0925 Some people "get it" and other's don't. We know where you fall, but show some respect maybe...especially if you still listen to so many of their albums. Plus, you happened to go to a bad show...They had a few of them. If you listened to the totality of their work (which apparently you still do), you'd realize how great they were.
Then go watch some other videos.
2 couldn't make up for Brent
where the fuck is the ignore button?
twice
@bucketfreak196868
so you are shark bootlegs heh? you have big balls buddy... up front and in day light....bravo. bj bootlegs has a starlake video he recorded from the 3d row. i uploaded the whole show
sorry, i misspoke
Bad Ass...... Indiana Dead!!
the date is wrong. Jerry didnt play with vince and bruce.
I just sat back closed the peepers and enjoyed the tune. (crap vid)
cengeb's a wanna be
Jerry Garcia Joke...When asked why he couldn't stay sober, Jerry replied...I'd get clean, come out and play with the band and immediately think to myself..."these guys suck" ... sorry to the Deadheads reading this. I went through a "Love the Dead" phase but got over it during a 1978 performance in Blacksburg. They were just terrible ... I'm listening to this track ramble...not even Bruce Hornsby can save it. That said...I still listen to Workingmans, American Beauty, Mars Hotel, Europe 72.
