Grateful Dead - Save Your Face: Pouring Light Into Jazzes ('73-'74)

Grateful Dead
Save Your Face: Pouring Light Into Jazzes (1973-1974)
By John Hilgart
saveyourface.posthaven.com/gr...
This two-hour mix features a particular zone of 1973-1974 jazz Dead. It’s comprised of some of the most diffuse and drifty “Dark Star” passages of the period, plus adjacent jams that took the same mood into additional territory. Common denominators are complex, gentle beauty and Bill Kreutzmann’s amazing drumming. Visit the above link for additional details and a download URL.

As an Australian Deadhead ( for over 50 years) and never got to attend a Dead concert, I am grateful for all the vision, the tapers, the studio and live compilations from across the Dead’s years that are now part of this old man’s daily life. Until the day I die I will be a Deadhead 🌹🌹🌹✌️✌️✌️

And when I die, bury me deep, with a pair of speakers at me feet, place a pillow under my head, and forever play the Grateful Dead.

Its interesting during 70-74, there was no Mickey Heart, and the music was still so perfect. They sounded just fine with one drummer.

I love Mickey and love the eras when he was in the band, but yeah - there's a pretty solid argument that Dead drumming was at its best when it was just Billy back there. He's just always in the pocket.

I am a big fan of that era and Mr. K's drumming was OUTSTANDING! Mikey was not missed at all by me and the playing got turgid sometimes, with mickey onboard.....

I always preferred the "Just Billy" years. The drums are much more crisp sounding. I love Mickey to death , but Bill is the man!

According to quantum physics (as I humbly understand it) all physical existence can be reduced to frequency. If some alien race is trying to contact us, and can't because of some communication barrier, can this download be used to represent our race?
