    Them bags always amaze me! How can what is essentially a leaf blower, provide enough force to keep a multi ton vehicle form violently smashing to the ground? I may never understand the science behind it, but it's still neat to watch.

    It’s the square inches not the pressure of the leaf blower imaging 1 psi per square inch hou many square inches each bag are the leaf blower is about 5 psi to 10 psi

    Some things we never fully understand the science behind them. It took a smart person to come up with the system. Actually most towing companies don't use the bag system as much as this company does! Most put a catch line on the wrecked vehicle to keep it from hitting the ground hard.

    OK--you guys are a well organized/well thought out machine. Got the equipment to do any job also. Every body is doing something--no wasted movements...I watched a few towing video's--like on recoveries--every body is standing around waiting for somebody to tell them every move--folks--you are loosing money the whole time--look around--see what needs to be done. Got to get that road open.

    As usual, another smooth recovery. What's the PSI in the bags when they are inflated? I know you're careful with placement of the bags, but do they ever get ripped when the vehicle being uprighted rolls forward or backward enough during the lift that they could get punctured?

  • @michaelseverson9809

    @michaelseverson9809

    2 жыл бұрын

    They are low pressure bags the system uses a weed blower motor to inflate the bags and each bag has flaps that open at the bottom. As far as cutting or ripping them we have not had that happen we usually set them at the tires but there has been times we have set them under frames. There are repair kits if you do puncture one. They are pretty strong

    Great video! I was wondering if those catch bags are really worth the time versus running a catchline off your boom. You guys took all precautions to have a great, seamless recovery. That telescoping boom on the back hole was sick, I've never seen one like that before

    @@michaelseverson9809 then why does everyone else just run a catch line? They are the only I've seen use them. I've heard others say they're too expensive, & not worth the time to set up?? I don't know, I'm just saying what others in the business say!?

    @@timothygeiger437 not sure why the people you talk to don’t spend the money. I know a few companies that use them on a regular basis. All I can really say is that it saves us time, and they have paid for themselves rather quickly. And lastly we always try to limit our exposure on the roadways, so anything that speeds up our process is worth it’s weight in gold.

    Howdy Dustyn and crew, that was another great video to watch and see how the pro's do it. I have a question for you out of curiosity, I understand what you said as far as the truck getting a DOT inspection. When the mess was put in the other truck did the DOT take it and have it put on a scale to check if the contents was overweight to see if that had anything to do with causing the incident. Back when I was doing what you all do the Motor Carrier Officers at times would have this done. Just curious. Also the landing bags and Michael set the truck down like putting a baby down for a nap, wish we had them way back. Great job chaining it all up to keep things in place and as far as the somewhat negative comments about the bags and the Ron Pratt play by play for information. You all just keep doing things the way you are cause as far as I can see it works for you and your crew. As always you all take care and be safe out there. Greg.
