I went to see the graphite steel in store today and looks a lot lighter than I expected. I’ve got the stainless steel one and it’s too similar. I have to be honest I preferred the space black. Looked more badass.

That's what I love about mine. It looks like a black pebble that is just one body. The graphite is nice too, I didn't like it at first but the silvery finish makes it look more like jewelry. They made the space black exclusive to Hermès and I'm not about to spend 1k on an Apple Watch.

@@iiishception It’s even worse now, there are no all black version that gives that look with the new series 7. The Titanium space black looks like aluminum and doesn’t give that seamless look. The midnight aluminum looks like a deep navy blue. Sadly, no options now. ☹️

@A Z The Aluminum watch is cheap and always looks cheap, can tell from a mile away, lol. It’s so tacky, nothing more than just for working out. SS looks like a proper watch finish, leave the aluminum to the kids.

We never created a smartwatch for any other purpose, it’s merely additional functionality, lol. Enough of that nonsense, as for more than tacky, a proper watch is nothing less than SS… other lessor materials just for affordability. A watch is jewelry and considered one of the most valuable indicators of accomplishment and style. This is something that generally only high value individuals who understand so don’t feel upset about that, not meant to be demeaning or condescending.

I really wanted the stainless in silver but it was too expensive because I also wanted to get extra bands so I went with the aluminum silver and got the link band in silver and a few of the other basic ones...it looks great. And no ladies...the link band is not too masculine with a couple of delicate bracelets paired with it.

That’s the same combo I got and I absolutely love it. I’ve always had the Space Black since the 1st series and loved it but I think this Graphite is even nicer

Got the Graphite last week coming from an S5 Space Black and it really is a nice colour, definitely looks fancier but therein lies the problem. I feel like the Space Black was the perfect combination of both dressy and casual. Want to dress it up? Attach a Milanese loop, link bracelet or leather band and it looks great. Want to use it for activities, looks just as good with any array of sports bands as well. But with the Graphite I feel it’s just way too fancy, it looks off with any type of sports or casual band. Not too mention in sunlight it could almost be mistaken for silver. Although it’s a nice addition to the lineup I’m returning it and shelling out the extra money for the Hermès Space Black.

You can still get space black! It’s just only available for the Hermès version. :-/

Such a great video! Mine is coming on Wednesday and I was very curious how it compares against the stainless steel black. It seems like more of a glossy gun metal color? Anyway it’s beautiful and I can’t wait to receive mine!

Update: I saw the graphite stainless in person at the Apple store. It’s stunning! They let me try it on the with solo loop and braided loop. Solo - I am one size smaller than the braided. The solo loop is the most comfortable band I have ever worn. Purchase one in Deep Navy. It goes so well with the graphite stainless steel.

Is there any benefit to purchasing the Stainless over the Aluminum variant if I were planning on using a Catalyst Waterproof case over it? Thank you for your video!

the watch itself is already waterproof, also the stainless have the saphire glass so its more scratch resistant than the aluminum.

I the Series 6 a little thinner than the Series 5?

Think it’s a nice colour but my preference is still with the Space Black and yes I just got the Graphite. Going to be retuning it and buying the Hermès version.

Would’ve earned bonus points if the Graphite Milanese Loop was paired with the Space Grey Alumin(i)um.

When they create the 10 year battery I might go for a s/s or titanium model, just can’t see the point of these models when the watch is obsolete in 3-4 years give or take.

Actually, if you want to get a Space Black stainless steel series 6 you still can. It seems it is exclusive to the Hermès models now.

The brown one is from Clayton and Crume, the leather loop is Apple’s

I love the new graphite. I have to stop myself from staring at it when I wear it. For bands I think it looks great with the space black link bracelet as well as my grovemade brown leather. Even the Nike Sport Band looks good with this finish!

Andrea Balduzzi Guess I’ll just transfer my Data plan from my series 5 to my series 6. There’s no need to have two separate data plans for me when I rarely use the one I currently have. I’ll just keep my Series 5 just connected thru Bluetooth. Thank you.

Apple been getting cheaper in every series I miss the nice square watch box for the stainless steel / Hermès editions. 😢

They also removed the charger from the box and force touch from the watch itself. The box doesn't include a protective case anymore and overall it's just getting worse with every iteration. Maybe it helps with the environment, but with all the compromises, they should've at least dropped the price by a hundred dollars for the stainless steel version.

Is it DLC?

I was going to get that but now it looks like I’ll get the titanium space black and spend an extra hundred dollars no biggie for me thanks for the video that cleared everything up

The space black Ti is the most scratch resistant esp the DLC coating is matte, plus it's lighter. The glass is also durable even bumped. 99%of broken and scratch screen apple watches are aluminum models

Not everyone wears their Apple Watch all the time; either that or he has multiple watches...using the little case it comes in is actually a good idea, but I agree the new cases aren’t really meant for regular use and it’s hard to get the watch out of the case - the older cloth cases were much better. I personally would just pack the watch with its band in with my clothes to protect it.

The should have called it shadow chrome...

What about when you pair Graphite Stainless steel And Apple watch app calls it aluminum watch instead of stainless steel. This is a known bug and I actually return the watch because of it

I got the blue S6 but didn’t get the right size of the braided loop. After calling apple for so many days and going to store infinite times I couldn’t get it due to the non availability of the stock as they had to replace the full watch. Long story short i got the graphite with the loop and man although i paid around 300 more but now the blue looks so cheap and toy like. The graphite is then one to get . Loved it.

It’s annoying that they only offer space black in Hermès

There have been many complaints about the space black showing off silver since the black is just a coating. Graphite looks a liitle silver stainless. It's supposed to ver tough coating DLC coating but it's shiny. DLC coated Titanium black is the most scratch resitant of all apple watches since the DLC coat is matte. DLC coating is the most scratch resistant coating ever. Check on youtube for DLC coating acratch test on watches

Samuel Manny my coating on my Apple Watch came off. Apple refused to believe that was a problem on their end and I told them I hadn’t done anything to the watch because otherwise to the tiny piece of space black coating missing, there was no scratch nor dent anywhere on the watch. Of course, I went to the Apple store filled with incompetent and useless people and they refused to acknowledge it happened for the first 30 minutes and then they said it wasn’t covered under the limited warranty. I called Apple, and many people rejected to help me until I reached one senior advisor that actually helped. It took me months of back and forth, but three months later I had an Apple Watch that was like new.

Samuel Manny what I don’t understand is why they would deny it to me so much if it’s a common problem, I assume that’s why they eventually agreed to replace it? Or maybe I was the first person who brought it to their attention. I’m not sure but everyone I spoke to made it seem as if I had tampered with the watch.

This actually makes me super sad. I like the graphite color actually and agree it’s more watch line BUT the watch still isn’t watch-like enough, with a perfectly square or even circular body and centered Digital Crown so 🤷🏽‍♂️ Also, I have the black modern buckle from last year with the 40mm space black series 5 and it wouldn’t match the new graphite watch. Hope they bring back space black next year or whenever I’m ready to move on from my series 5 like they bring back the ceramic…

I’m not saying I called all this out before anyone else on KZread... 🤐

Yes it is however it is a slight shade darker than the silver stainless steel so that means it probably has a better diamond coating. Only time will tell, but I do know for sure how resistant the space black is. My s4 has been knocking walls for the past 2 years and still nothing on the surface.

I didn’t like the space black because in fact it was too black and dark for me. Now I feel more confortable with graphite being lighter. Now I have a new problem...debating between stainless steel and graphite. Before I would choose stainless steel with no coating but now I am not sure because graphite has diamond like coating and remember me of the coating in my old iphone X which was so resistant and durable

I don't think any iPhones have DLC coating. Only PVD. So the watch is even stronger than your iPhone X.

I visited the apple store yesterday and tried on both the Titanium and graphite stainless steal, the titanium is so light and unless your right up close it looks like the aluminum, dint feel very premium for the price and didn't look as good as the stainless graphite, pleased I went to look as almost got titanium, current have the series 2 stainless in the black and its been so durable over the last 4 years

@@ollietreg2334 Yea I feel you, I've seen people with the titanium silver and it looks so sick the way it shines like a brushed metal. However it is too reminiscent of the aluminum models and wouldn't even consider paying so much for it. I have the black stainless for my s4 but now that the space black has been moved up to the hermès collection, not sure if it's worth the price. Also the graphite looks cool but in sunlight it looks too silver, idk why apple thought it was smart to have two silvers for stainless steel. The black was awesome because it had a better diamond coating and was much better at resisting scratches.

This pissed me off. The space black was the only one I bought. Purchased series 3 and series 4. Now if I want it, I have to buy the ugly double tour band version which is insanely $1700. There’s a titanium space black but the website pics make it look like graphite. Have to investigate the difference between titanium and stainless steel. I see it’s more matte than gloss

Chris b .....I know.....I’m sure a lot of us do want to genuinely help the planet here and there, but for Apple to pull a number like that is kinda disrespectful underestimating customer’s intelligence and taking us for a ride. They just need to be fair enough, with “saving the planet environmental food print thing”. I would say, anything that’s $ 300 and up ain’t cheap. 🤔

senna yes you throw it away cus it’s cardboard, the little touch of giving us a sleeve just reminds you of their attention to detail. I’d rather them just cover it in plastic (like the charging bricks and AirPods) because that cardboard is gonna go straight into the trash

I don't understand all that talk about the space black not being a traditional watch color. If you go to any watch store you will find silver watches, gold ones, silver and gold, BLACK, and even orange, green etc. The "traditional" colors are silver copper and gold, but in this time and age normal watches come in a variety of colors, so that argument is really based on nothing. I don't really get this new color either, they had silver and black, and now they have silver a a slightly darker silver. what's the point really? if anything they should've added the new color, instead of making it a substitute for an already well established and loved color. btw I don't own a SB apple watch since that configuration is not available in my country so no, I'm not butt hurt

There is no such thing as environmentally friendly when you are talking about Corporations, it’s called manufacturing reduction at the same selling price which means more money for them at a lower production cost.
