The soft shell turtle is a widely comsumed species in China. They are not endanger in the other side of the world and they are raised in farms. Many people, include me, love it. Man you can't imagine what you missed, the soft skirt is absolutly the best tasting part of it. If you stew it with pork belly you will know what I'm talking about.

Why are so many of you people getting mad? Not only did you willingly click on the video, this is actually more ecologically friendly. Instead of buying meat from companies that mass produce animals. Which is one the lead contributors to climate change and deforestation he’s living off the land. Also it’s good knowledge to know how to hunt for yourself. Especially since I’m certain the majority of you people complaining, are the same ones talking about how you would survive an apocalypse of some sort. But don’t even know how to start a fire let alone hunt. But you guys are still eating chicken and beef mass farmed living in terrible conditions, he killed the turtle quick you people need to stop complaining.

Everyone that complaining that he’s hunting and eating turtles are the same people that don’t hunt or cook their own food. Food is food. Just cos you eat at a restaurant most of your life don’t make you right.

Rob, this type of snapping turtle are our local delicacy with controlled consumation. They are either boil in herb soup or stewed in a claypot. Almost all parts can eaten beside their top hard shells and dirty guts. There's a style of cooking its liver and intestines. Their lower shell are like firm gello. People eat it for health and strength. They are good to cure asthma.

This is informative, the man killed the turtle to ease its suffering immediately. I live in Florida. This is not an endangered or threatened species. The amount of triggered environmentalists is astounding. Go see a meat production plant for clearly a species that isn't endangered like cows. Somewhere in your family tree to ensure you being here people hunt, killed, and ate what they could find if they were hungry. I'm definitely for sustainable living with protecting endangered species and conservation efforts to protect ecosystems. Over half the triggered haters don't know what they are talking about on here.

buzztrucker As an environment sciences student I have to complain about this comment just a little. Please don’t lump us with the overly crazed “environmentalists” who use feelings over facts. True ENV. scientists are all about sustainability and conservation when it comes to hunting and a lot of us are even hunters ourselves. Lumping the real environmentalists with the PETA bible-thumpers is what gives us a bad name and reputation, when in reality we are a large portion of the main consumers, users, and hunters of wild game! Anybody think of Amazing World of Gumball when they saw the thumbnail.

Learned a trick from a very old guy around 35 years ago about cleaning turtles. He would do the same thing. Dispatch them with a 22. Then put a hose clamp around the neck and run his garden hose down the throat. Turn the water on. Let the turtle bloat. All the guts blow out the backside. Work the skin around the shell to loosen it and the shell pops right off when you cut the skin. Give it a shot. Works very well on all turtles

Look this species of turtle is not endangered and he killed it humanly the first thing. Also if you hate animals being killed then why are you here. If you don't like animals killed or cooked then this content isn't for you.

its really good but why is it graphic material? those turtles are hunted by alligators..alligators dont have sharp teeth..they press twist..braking bones and taring muscles..so much pain that that turtle goes into shock and its killed by stomach acid while still alive..and this guy just shot it and killed it..after that it doesnt matter..seeing how he cleans the animal is in no way graphic material..its just normal..its dead..it doesnt matter..you are just preparing food...people are offended and shocked so easily..and its often the people who's countries decimate human beings just for profit...so i really dont get it

My mother (RIP) told me stories about her childhood that her father would make turtle soup if one crawled into their yard and she said it tasted like chicken. I don't know if I'll ever try it but you did your thing with this dish. It looks like it is very tasty.
