I grew up and worked aboard a shrimp boat tour as a guide that also boiled the fresh shrimp for a tasting for passengers. One day a passenger asked "if the mantis shrimp tasted any good?". So i tossed it in the pot with the shrimp. It boils and turns purple instead of pink like shrimp but taste legit taste like 50%shrimp 50%lobster. Its is now my favorite seafood.

@@DorothyDollLee The ones we caught were typically less that 6 inches and at worst would hook you with their "javelins" and fold their tail under and use the sharp points on their tail to cut you. Our local shrimpers called them "Thumbsplitters" as they looked enough like a normal shrimp until you pick it up in a hurry to cull the catch and it "splits your thumb open". But if you're careful you can handle them without the bloodshed.

5:02 This weird alien thing is a species of bristle worm, specifically a "Chloeia Flava". It’s actually upside down while you filmed it. If it was right side up you would see it has a cool spotted pattern on its back. These worms have needle-like hairs or bristles on its back too and are venomous. They often let themselves drift along with the tidal current. Handling this worm with your bare hands is a bad idea, even a light brush across the worm will cause the bristles be attached onto your hand similar to a cactus. It'll definitely hurt and if you get stung, it's often more than once at a time too. Cool find none the less!

Salt and pepper are what you would technically call seasonings in a professional kitchen. One last thing you're just upset because they made these 2 morons look foolish. And called them out on some pretty obvious shit including adding corn to seafood. I'm sorry that wasn't love potion that was a huge mistake. Two types of Mantis, spearer and the crushers. That variety is a spearer, the grab and snatch at prey, impaling it. The crushers hit with a club like appendage that will crack open crabs, lobsters, snails etc. They sound like little gun shots going off in the water or your tank. Mantis are awesome predators.

They are in fact one of the freakiest creatures on the planet! Their front pincers which are more or less boxing gloves hit harder than anything else on the planet! Their fists move so fast through the water it causes any water in contact with their fists to literally vaporize for they go so fast they damn near break the speed of sound! Dead serious this is not a joke they can actually smash their way out of an aquarium just by punching the glass.

Ppl complaining about the cooking obviously dont know how to cook. Maybe learn how to actually cook than putting your hate on here🤷‍♀️ The garlic and butter is enough for taste and it doesnt overpower as much as salt does. Keep doing what you're doing guys, this is the real American cooking💪🇺🇸🎆🎇 And omg the corn on the top is like icing on the cake, yum!

Praise the Lord....this is the 2nd video I've watched of you guys and I absolutely love em. Y'all had me hooked after the 1st video and then when you prayed and thanked Jesus it confirmed why I liked Y'all from the get go! I'd love to be able to come along on a shrimp/fishing trip (day or night or both....lol). I'm a 100% disabled veteran raising 3 sons on my own. We just recently had to take my youngest son (16 yrs old) to the doctor and found out that he has aplastic anemia. We went to the hospital on Thursday and he was admitted to the pediatric icu where we stayed through Saturday. Good news is that it's not leukemia, but he might have to have blood and platelet transfusions from now on and he may need a bone marrow transplant too. Please keep Spencer in your prayers....God bless
