I absolutely love iguana's, worked with them for years with my education projects, BUT you have to remember that in places like Florida they're so invasive and have to be culled to protect the environment. If people would stop releasing unwanted pets then we wouldn't have these problems. I don't think I could eat one personally, but I must admit that looked delicious
@iAmLegend22GS
4 жыл бұрын
@Pagliacci while that story might be true, people releasing animals are part of the problem as well. Same thing goes for all the invasive fish species. Lion fish, Oscar fish, Mayan cichlids, clown knife, etc. All of those fish species were released by idiotic people into the lakes, ponds and ocean.

There are plenty of invasive species, but we don't gotta eat them like what?
African Berry: Synsepalum dulcificum is a plant in the Sapotaceae family known for its berry that, when eaten, causes sour foods (such as lemons and limes) subsequently consumed to taste sweet. This effect is due to miraculin. Common names for this species and its berry include miracle fruit, miracle berry, miraculous berry, sweet berry, and in West Africa, where the species originates, agbayun, taami, asaa, and ledidi. The berry itself has a low sugar content and a mildly sweet tang. It contains a glycoprotein molecule, with some trailing carbohydrate chains, called miraculin. When the fleshy part of the fruit is eaten, this molecule binds to the tongue's taste buds, causing sour foods to taste sweet. At neutral pH, miraculin binds and blocks the receptors, but at low pH (resulting from ingestion of sour foods) miraculin binds proteins and becomes able to activate the sweet receptors, resulting in the perception of sweet taste. This effect lasts until the protein is washed away by saliva (up to about 30 minutes).

From where I'm originally from (Palawan, Philippines), monitor lizards, which are like a smaller version of komodo dragon, are pests and I think I've had it when I was just a kid. Coconut milk and curry are also great with crocodile meat. Just gotta make sure the meat is tender nd seasoned well.

IKR, I’ve never seen someone make a curry without coconut milk or cream. Looked decent nonetheless but could’ve been much better with coconut milk.
Wife says she doesn’t wanna eat it cuz she has the flu..next minute “i wanna try now”

A tip on the curry, in Asia we tend to use the roux on any protein and veggies and fry it with it as that brings out more flavor. So next time, make the roux first. And also never had butternut squash and don't think I want it in my curry, sub carrots instead. :)
That miracle berry is the perfect thing to help kids eat their veggies
I'd have to eat a pile of those berry things to even try to eat a lizard 😂

@Borderguy342 How many species are extinct due to mankind? I'm all for hunting, I'm just pointing out the irony of life
Not sure that I would eat lizard, but I love the way this guy prepares his food, it’s fascinating. I also love his lifestyle with his family etc. Some animal lovers may find this man despicable due to the process he uses to feed his family, however my personal view is that this is the natural order for him and his family’s Sustenance.

Resonate a respectable way to cook it too. Most white people I’ve seen just heat up the pan, slap some butter in that bitch and throw the meat on top 😂

I think the next time I'm in Florida, I'll be hunting Iguana. My son lives in the south below Lake Okeechobee and those suckers are everywhere. Happy hunting and eating.
I enjoy your curry very much greetings from Bavaria Klaus
Sucking on a lemon slice after eating miracle fruit tastes like lemonade with WAY too much sugar. It's a lot of fun and only lasts about 30 minutes or so.

Pokki so like boa constrictors in Florida for example. They should go out and tranquilize them or net them? And then take them where? Snake Sanctuary?

@Pokki animals have nothing to live for, only the ones who help the environment should be protected, pests like this should be killed.
Mad respect to you washing your meat! Every time I tell people I wash mine they give me some smack about cross contamination and the FDA. My people been washing our meat forever, not gonna change!

Iguana hides behind alligator Me: Then it's treason *gets the crossbow*
I love these guys. They have such a great channel. You can watch all day and never be bored and tons of great content. I want to hunt some iguana bad. I haven't had a chance yet, but its coming. Too busy diving right now.
That iguana curry is a very innovative recipe. I assume it's your own recipe since it's very different. The roux is a substitute for coconut cream. Seems like a Southern thing to me. I expect your dish would be unaccountably delicious, but personally, I'd still use coconut cream instead of roux. And BTW, you don't have to worry about 'burning' your roux so much. There is a 'roux blonde' which you were creating and which is used for 'sauce bechamel' (or classic white sauce), a 'roux brun' which has a deeper flavor and would be used for something like chicken pot pie, and there is a roux noir, or back roux, which is used in gumbo (to great effect, I might add...black roux tastes GOOOOOD!). The color (tan, brown, or black) depends on how long (and patiently) you cook the roux. The longer you cook it (without burning it) the nuttier and deeper the flavor becomes. Still...I think the roux is a good substitute if you don't have coconut cream/milk on hand, though not my preference. But...iguana gumbo. Well, that might be the next thing.
My mouth is watering rite now bud.so palatable
