Grant's Getaways: 7 Wonders of Oregon

There are many splendid places to see in Oregon where you can let your spirit for outdoor adventure soar. The biggest challenge may be finding enough time to discover them all.
There are seven statewide destinations that are easy to reach for newcomers and longtime residents alike. They are places where you can find adventure and make some fabulous memories of your own.
Justin Yax of the Central Oregon Visitors Association said that the 7 Wonders of Oregon is a checklist of places you must see and experience -- especially if you call Oregon your home. "Each of the wonders is unique and majestic in its own right. They are rich with history, scenery and adventure that everyone should discover on their own. We try to make those discoveries easier through the new 7 Wonders experience."

Oregon residents don't realize how good they have it. Being a native Iowan I'm blown away by the beauty that Oregon offers.

My home! I used to be able to see Monkey Face from my living room window. I used to run daily on a 3 mile trail with my wolf hybrid. Where I raised my daughters and all of my family still reside. I love my home.. my heart will always be there. I can’t wait to move back.

Jim Kuhn As a fellow Oregonian, I agree with you Jim. My husband made darn sure that he took me to every Oregon sight there is. I have seen all of these and we would take our old 22' RV out on weekends and find places on no map. I have a wonderful lifetime of memories here in my home. Blessed be. Oregon is beautiful.

Oregon is a beautiful place to explore and hike. Of all the Seven wonders in Oregon its so hard to have a favorite, but I'd say it's a tie between the Columbia River Gorge Area and Smith Rock State Park. Crater Lake and the ocean would be tied for second. I have yet to visit the Painted Hills and Wallowa Mountains.
