I discovered Grandson about a month and a half ago (the song i found was blood//water) and i was slowly listening to the songs one at a time (i do that to appreciate the lyrics) and i could see how anyone could be like 'meh it's an okay song' but that's because they don't pay attention to the lyrics, to really understand the song you have to listen and appreciate the lyrics and then you can finally understand how amazing of an artist grandson is and how amazing his songs are. It was crazy when he released modern tradegy because now i have a bunch of new songs i can now appreciate.

This song's lyrics are so true. It is so sad to admit that in this society wherever you are, a shooting, robbery, or even just a violent act can just come out onto the streets at any time. Imagine the technology in the future that can make weapons and other defenses so much more tragic as time passes. Grandson captures all of these and actually adds MEANING to the songs instead of just random horrible lyrics like popular music today.

+Dannie Mike Shinoda, you might know him better as the rapper/guitarist/keyboardist/producer of Linkin Park. He's dropped some new music of his own. Hence the reference. AND he did a song with grandson, which is how most LP fans(including myself) got to know about him.

I really appreciate this song, it speaks about how we have a huge mental health problem in America(and other countries) but the government doesn't care at all and they leave these people with mental health issues without any help and leave them with access to dangerous tools(guns in this case). As someone who suffers from mental health problems I thank you, grandson.

No, it's rather about a perfectly healthy person being pushed into a corner and beyond. It's about the only mentally sane response to such a situation: revolution, an uproar, taking down your oppressors.

I'm obsessed yet terrified. When I was really little (2 or 3) two men came into a restaurant my stepmum, dad, stepbrother and I were dining at with a gun. As soon as my Dad saw him he discreetly hid my stepbrother, stepmother, a few other kids and I in the bathroom as the men robbed the restaurant of all their money. ... why does this encapsulate the moment a bit more every day... It feels prophetic, and you can identify with it more and more.. a fire is started with 1 match. When will it be, if is seeming less likely when you see the natives getting restless...

Imagine a music video with snippets of the 2020 riots and vietnam and him singing this. It would be such a powerful piece of art.

So the story is about a man who had society reject him and now he resorted to crimes and anarchy to survive. These post-political punk rock songs are too epic. Move over green day.

Sounds to me more like somebody whose last resort is a kamikaze ("going down in flames") attack (probably in a bank, hence "rain down [bank notes] in Washington") against the system that fucked him over in an attempt to make a change. More or less, a terrorist attack in an act of desperation.

A minute in and it's amazing already. This ep sounds amazing so far, barely 2 songs in!

This is exactly the type of music I love. I’ve never heard a song like this and I doubt I ever will. Only grandson can pull this off, and that’s what’s so great about it. In a world where music is repetitive and generic, this is a great find!
