I swear everytime I listen to this I get transported back in time like the trippy scene in Doctor Strange to being 17 and taking a bong toke with my friends and doing the "Yup" bit. Fun fact, most forms of smoke/vape, if not all, have the opposite effect on your voice that helium does, just to a lesser degree, so when I said Yup with the smoke still in my lungs it turned my somewhat normal sounding low tone, into a deep bass that I could never do normally and matched perfectly with the song, and of course all of us being stoned off our asses we burst out laughing (Or more accurately in my case, coughing). Fuckin good times, I miss my old friends

Missio is just a different breed

The way I see this song is that there's a kid who sunk into depression, turned to narcotics and alcohol and ended up building a tolerance to them, and they kept using drugs and alcohol later into life, still chasing a high, but needing to pay for more and more each time, until they couldn't afford to get a high anymore. *EDIT:* Thus the "Everybody gets high, why the hel can't I?" line.

Yea my little brother. Passed away the day after Thanksgiving this last year. Kid was mentally handicap and instead of getting him help the system and my parents passed him along til methheads got their claws into him. He missed a few dialysis appointments for their benders and when he finally went back he had a massive stroke and died...barely 30 years old....

Eventually you'll face withdrawals, and those withdrawals are hell. My addictions ruined my mental health, and my mental health ruined my relationships. Especially my engagement. This is one of the songs that's helping me stay sober nowadays. That, the memories, and the shame. If you're feeling the same, I hope you find the strength to heal soon. We can do it.

@@szeszil90 Find the reasons you need to drink or smoke your problems away. Find a way to cope that doesn't involve searching the bottom of a bottle or bong. Get therapy. Stop self medicating and take a look at how your habits effect others. And think about it. There's billions of people in the world. Nobody has to wait for you to sober up. If you're worried you'll ruin your relationship, it's time to sober up.

He would also ask me if he didn't understand something and we talked about how the lyrics to songs are very important and many songs may sound happy or fun but the message isn't at all. There is a clear story in this song and he asked me during one of our talks about why the song was so sad. Some kids just feel the music.

Is at the end because he now has a massive tolerance to opiates and alcohol and can drink all day and pop 20 vicodin at once and not feel high.
