Grandmaster Ju Ung Seo (주웅서) - Hapkido/Taekgyeon - Eul Ji Kwan - Korean Martial Arts & Self Defense

Grandmaster Ju was born in 1966 near Jecheon in South Korea. He begins martial arts by practicing Hapkido at the age of 7, and after 18 years of daily practice, he opens his own school, the "EulJiKwan Dojang" in Jecheon in 1991. He then started to practice the Teakgyeon in 1996 and also began to teach that a few years later.
He is currently 8th Dan of Hapkido and 7th Dong of Teakgyeon. He is also, within the Korea Hapkido Federation (Deahan Hapkido Hyeophoe), responsible for the ChungCheong Buk Do region, as well as the official instructor of the Jecheon police.
Master Ju opened internationally in the early 2000s in order to introduce Hapkido and Teakgyeon abroad. Every year, a growing number of people follow its teaching and pupils invite him to give seminars in many countries such as France, Italy, Germany, England, United Arab Emirates, Portugal, Bulgaria, Greece, Kingdom of Bahrain, Turkey, Malaysia, Morocco, Ghana, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Denmark, Australia, Brazil.
He founded, in 2013, the group for development and research of the Korean martial arts and then, in 2016, he founded the "Euljikwan World Union" to unify Korean and Overseas Masters and to promote Euljikwan around the world.
His school and also called style, Eul Ji Kwan, is mainly focused on joint control. However it is a very complete style including a lot of kicks, hand strikes, falling techniques and even forms that he created to allow students to practice more by themselves.

I like Hapkido but is it necessary to make them shit their pants in pain? every Hapkido video demonstration is ee the students are crying and banging on the floor.. okay it works we get it, no need to torture the guys

If you studied the art extensively, you would understand. It hurts as long as you are under control of the defender. One who knows how to properly practice the art knows how to make the pain stop when the opponent stops fighting. So the pain part is mostly show, it hurts bad, but there is a difference in hurting and being injured. And the banging is a tap, to show they are done. I hope that helps a little. But, like my instructor always said, and he was never wrong.... "It will stop hurting when the pain goes away" true words of Master Hull. Great video. It's nice to see some real Hapkido out there.
