Battery life guarantee is about 8 years...but what im thinking is after this 8 years we will have to change the battery for sure in strong hybrid so the money saved on mileage just spends like that there

A simple excel calulation done assuming fuel prices to go up linearly; you'd need to drive 141,000 km to break even in a strong hybrid vs a mild hybrid. Have assumed the following - Mild Hybrid - 15KMPL, Strong Hybrid - 23KMPL, Petrol average price - 123Rs/L . On Road Mild - 15.3L & On Road Strong - 19.3L. Will you drive that much in 8 years? Beyond that the battery will need to be replaced which will be additional 4 lakhs. I think strong hybrid is useless unless you plan to drive a 100km/day for next 5 years everyday. Do your math.

Yeah !! Perfect calculation. Basically , power generated by a mild hybrid is sufficient for within city commutation, even otherwise,17-18 km/L is also an impressive mileage generated by mild variant Strong hybrid will certainly incur heavy maintenance cost in future 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

I dont think 3 cylinders are kept to directly manage price. Toyota has only one 1.5 liter hybrid engine which is used in Yaris (outside India). So rather than developing a separate 1.5 liter engine for India, they just used the same power train. If u have doubt search for yaris hybrid

Thanks for the information. Major drawback of these cars is head room at the back. Even my hair was touching the roof with me being 5'10. With recline it was OK but major miss from Maruti and Toyota. Advice to everyone to take this aspect into consideration before booking both these cars.

Thanks Gupta ji, 1.5 NA MILD (4 cyl) has 103bhp, 136nm and Hybrid (3 cyl) has 115bhp, 141 nm

Cylinder wise 4 cylinders are better in noise, mileage but 3 cyl are better in price.

3 cylinder engines are the worst for reliability. They are unbalanced due to their design, thus the engine will try to rotate and flip over which is prevented by using a balancing weight but it will not make it free-revving. If there is any engine repair, the balancing will be very tricky in a workshop. The engine will forever have issues. In comparison to 4 cylinders they are also very noisy and provide no power 25% of the time.
