The impact Adley has had turning this franchise around isn't talked about enough. His numbers are great, but his leadership and baseball IQ are even greater.

He is such a great hitter, i think sometimes it gets over-looked just how good he is behind the plate as well. He knows how to get the best out of the pitchers from game to game, great arm, and does a good job framing close pitches. IMO, there's an argument to be made over who is more valuable...He or Gunnar. Either way, I love having them both!

He’s such a pure hitter, I feel like 10 years from now he’ll be in the same level or looked at as a Freddie Freeman type, years of pure hitting.

In his first two seasons Adley probably wouldn't have swung at that pitch that he hit for a grand slam today because that was clearly a ball. He's been much more aggressive at the plate this season.

It’s shown in his numbers. BB rate is down, K rate is up but overall it doesn’t seem like his slugs made a jump to compensate the more aggressive approach. He’s also getting more first strike pitches than ever. I’d love to seek him start to swing away at the first pitch.

@@AdajetI mean his OPS+ went from 128 to 141 between 2023 and 2024, so he’s clearly been a more productive hitter despite the more aggressive approach at the plate. I’d also like him to swing at more first pitch strikes but I also am not sure if it’s worth possibly disrupting his process

The last time I looked at his stat line was before the Tampa series and I might be misremembering but I feel like it wasn’t that much higher on average 1 or two weeks ago. I’ve just noticed his OBP and K are inverse than his average and I’d love to see him reel both back in

@@Adajet yea I feel you. Last year he basically walked as much as he struck out but this year he barely walks. But as much as I liked that part of his game, I think I like this current version of himself more. Clearly him being a more free swinger has raised his average and slug (especially considering league average offensive numbers are way worse this year than last year) and considering the changes to Gunnar’s game (walking more), I think this combination leads to a lot more damage. I get average isn’t everything especially if it means getting on base less like in Adley’s case, but walks aren’t gonna drive Gunnar in

Even if he does have a season where he’s just as productive as last year i much prefer this version of him, he’s always been my favorite player but now he’s so much more exciting
