    I remember being so taken by this movie as a young lad. The start with the engines revving, the split screen special effects with the wrenches, gauges and exhaust notes spewing out of these wonderful F1 cars. John Frankenheimer was a great movie director. You literally lived the race on every level. Wonderful story line and real special effects that were so polarizing. Cheers!

    @badmiyagi .s...…...sorry to burst your bubble, but the cars were all F3. [although some were built on F1 chassis]

    I always admired how the fella that played Nino Barlini in the movie tried so hard to look just like the man he was emulating. Lorenzo Bandini, who died at Monaco the following year in a fiery crash on the bay side. May 10, 1967.

    Antonio Sabato is his name. He and Francoise Hardy were romantically paired int the movie.

    @@badmiyagi R.I.P. Antonio Sabato Sr. (April 2, 1943 - January 10, 2021) He died on January 10, 2021 of complications from Covid-19 at a hospice in Hemet, California, United States at age 77.     This is 1 of My all time favorite movie right up there with Malcolm X and Black Panther but right up there with The Birds as well love Mr James Garner RIP in this film but everybody in this movie were great as well!

    R Michael 46 and then 2 years later, Lotus brought in wings and the looks of F1 cars didn't really improve until the late 80s/early 90s imho. honourable mention - Lotus 79
