A terrific rebound for Broome having lost back to back races in Ireland & Great Britain coming into this race. It was certainly no disgrace for Broome having to play second fiddle to Wonderful Tonight at Royal-Ascot in the G2 Hardwicke Stakes. She's proven herself to be one of the best fillies, if not horses outright racing in Europe at the moment. Prior to that he'd gotten nipped by a shoulder by Helvic Dream over 10-1/2f at the Curragh in the G1 Tattersalls Gold Cup after having defeated Helvic Dream by 2 lengths in the G2 Mooresbridge Stakes prior. But he bounced back nicely at Saint-Cloud against some quality horses, and I personally felt like this race and the Hardwicke Stakes showed he's probably a bit more effective over the longer 12F trip than he is racing back at 10 or 10-1/2f, even though he was successful in all of those races as well, save the Tattersalls Gold Cup loss.
