That combination you have with the exhaust pipe size and mufflers sounds really good nice touch with the marauder tail pipes too love it it's really got a nice aggressive sound to it. I have a 2002 Lincoln Continental 4.6 4 valve and I've got two flowmaster 40 series 2 chambers and it sounds aggressive like your Grand Marquis. I also just currently purchased a 1987 crown Vic LTD LX that I'm toying around with it has 32,000 original miles and I just had the police dual exhaust put on it ,and the police wheels and also did 355 positraction rear end she runs really good she's a sleeper never driven in the salt, winter time always stored definitely a rare one don't see very many of these left anymore

There is just something you got to love about the town cars and that is a proper exhaust sound. It's not loud and annoying like all the fart cans people throw on cars. That low rumble just sounds awesome

Very nice brother. I've been watching since you brought her home and cleaned her. I have a 03 P71 with 170k on her now. She had 91k when I bought her from the Miami Police Auction. For $675. I just replaced the whole interior cause the seats were trashed and the interior was that beige Camel color so I changed the whole interior to black. Someone had the sets completely redone before it ended up in the junk yard. It was a 06' so I had to change the electronics over on the front seats. I working on painting her. I'm going to pull the engine and trans and rebuild then and modify them for a turbo. Nothing crazy prob 450 to 500 rear wheel. I love your car. She is beautiful. I have been thinking about the super 40s on mine but I wasn't sure till I just heard your. Great sound. Thank you sir for the content

Hey Rich, I admire the quality of work you do for your customers. I wish you were about 4 hours closer. I took my 2014 Fusion back to the dealer today because after having recall work done of replacing the door latches done it seems the tech didn't get the window tight in the regulator on the passenger rear door. I had also asked my service advisor to ask the tech about the window seals, weather stripping etc. I asked him to advise if they were worn out, properly reinstalled or something missing or broken because I am getting more road noise than prior to the latches being replaced - no need for a test drive rather an inspect and advise situation IMO. I walk across the street for a snack and as I'm waiting to cross the road going back to the dealer I see MY CAR coming thru the intersection making a left turn in a way we describe in the south as "like a bat outta hell". My dash camera caught the whole thing. The guy had approached the left turn at 55 mph in a 25 mph zone and later ran at speeds up to 82 mph in a 55 mph zone. He never wore a seat belt and drove the car (1.5L eco-boost 134K) more aggressive than I ever drive it; ran over speed bumps 18-20 mph. The service manager wasn't too concerned about it in my opinion. When the tech returned we were both waiting for him and I told the advisor that I didn't want that tech anywhere near my car ever again. He rescheduled me for first thing next week with the original tech. This poor excuse for a tech didn't even begin to fix the known issue with the regulator causing the window to tilt back and forth but instead made a couple of passes through a nearby business complaining about a "female dog". I plan on speaking with the general manager but wanted to ask your thoughts on the situation? (side note my old car looked better than any Fusion or MKZ they had for sale on the lot, I take good care of my vehicles and better than most people) Thanks

I deleted the secondary cats on my Marauder and it sounds very similar to your setup but mine is slightly more subtle which I believe is due to the Megs resonated tips at the back. I want mine a little louder. Did you find the x pipe makes a big difference as opposed to our oem h pipe in terms of noise?

My last change on my `06 TC I used a 5qt jug from amazon (under $30) Castrol Hi-Mile Full Synthetic and topped it to 6 with a qt of Lucas stabilizer and a new FL-820S. I don`t abuse or use my baby too much (less than 4k\year) and she sleeps in my integral garage so I know enough to know I can get 10k miles out of this change. If you disagree, Please let me know! I have much of my car knowledge from just talking to people, and I wish you were in Pittsburgh so we could rap and cruise our Silver Sleds together.

Forgot to mention the other day, definitely the proper look for our cars!!

When you do go full send with it, my vote is a locker with 4.30s in the rear since you have a 4r70w. A 4V 5.4 built with boost and mild cams will make it the ULTIMATE sleeper while still being a dead stock reliable driver.

Car sounds good it could be a bit more raspy. New vehicles are too damn quiet. I grew up with carbureted vehicles and cherry bomb mufflers. My 05 6.0 has 4 inch turbo back with a resonator and power max turbo. The new exhaust makes you're car have the old school feeling/sound.

My Blue Driver is showing bank 1 sensor 2 is not that steady. Kinda looks like a saw blade edge. Not sure if the cats are plugging up or a bad o2 sensor. I might delete the rear cats.

I got myself a 2005 Grand Marquis and didn't want to go through the expense of all this, but I sure wouldn't mind having a bent extended chrome tail pipe to come out the rear passenger side. Been looking for an extension tip that would connect to the current original pipe tip that bends correctly to fit & look nice. Any suggestions or if they make such a thing can you post a link so I can order one if they have such a thing? Thanks.

I let the exhaust shop do this so I really honestly don't know to be honest with you I'm pretty sure the old Muffler or the pipe has to be cut off in order for it to fit properly

You are right. 4:10's might be a bit much for the rpm range of that motor. Wasn't a Ford hot rodder, but doesn't the 4.6's tongue start hanging out around 4500 rpm or so? However, gears are wonderful. I ran 4:88's (sorry, Nova). But my daily drivers have been Ford the last 20 years or so. Got a feeling whatever you do, it will be right.

Nice, I live in California so I can't cat delete. Second best option, MagnaFlow cat and performance muffler with 2.5" exhaust out the back. Although this is a 99 blazer 4.3 3/4 350

Actually you can if it does not mess with the emissions and you still can hook up to a machine and pass they're never going to know unless they get under the car and they don't do that

Beautiful car. I own a 97 Crown Victoria LX. It’s giving me overheating issues at the moment so she’s been parked for a month. I’ve replaced EVERYTHING and I mean everything that has something to do with the cooling system except head gaskets and it’s still overheating… Don’t have mechanic funds to diagnose nor fix but I do have tools a garage and know how to remove heads… Question for you lol, should I go ahead and do head gaskets?? My friend at machine shop said he’ll machine the heads after removal for free and my brother can get me head gaskets plus head bolts for discounted price from Auto Parts Store.. I don’t wanna get rid of my car or let it sit just because of this issue. I’m second owner, my papa was the first. Only 153k miles and I have every single maintenance record in hand.. Thanks in advance and thanks for this video! It’s making me want to wake Papa’s old Vic up a bit 😎

Tack weld the hanger on the muffler and added a rubber insulator bracket to the body

If you can't decide between a 3.73:1 or a 4.10:1 you can split the difference and get a 3.90.

I cut the downstream cats and mufflers off. From there is all straight pipe.

Nice old Galaxy on the lot ! You are much younger than I so I can understand if you disagree it is slightly too loud...Sounds good but for a road car...cruiser car I'd be getting tired of the tones rather fast. Just changing the axel gears will make a huge difference but I think 3:73 might be a bit too low...3:55 should work, they put those in 1/2 pick ups. Being a sweetheart older car, wait on the boost ideas.
