Ares is trying so hard to leave lmao

I appreciate this guide, just got kat's terminus weapon and wanted to learn better ways to keep ares combo going.

i just fully upgraded her terminus and wanted to maximize her gameplay, and this video just popped up into my youtube recommendation xD

Hope there will be a patch coming up so that dodge and guard won't cancel Ares

Ares dropping on guard and cancel is clearly by design and fully intentional. Won't happen.

@@taichiarasoi776 because she wasnt suppose to even have a continuous ares combo without skills in the 1st place....not even in the fighting games....this combo "cancel" is already a generous addition if intended, most probably a reward for skilled players that figured out instead of just normal spams.

​@@aexurml4314 in the fighting game yeah it makes sense or else it will be unfair. But at least dodging maybe keep ares 30% uptime just like Grans Art level and stuff.

Yeah, Katalina feels like an "early concept" of the design of a character, I feel like she'll be one of the first characters to get an update to her gameplay if they ever start doing that. What I would do personaly: Ares is activated only by using a skill and only spends half your galge, you also only get to do one combo and using any other skill will cancel Ares early instead of extending the combo. Then of course adjust numbers to fit the new playstyle.

nice vid, started trying out katalina and shes really fun and rewarding when u can keep ares out but the button mashing really tires out my hand lol. Vane is probably still my comfort melee main

thx for the perfect guide as katalina main i used to do full combo then use 1 spell to keep aris and do it again and again with cd and her sigil i can keep it forever i like to start the fight with azura sword to do the maximum dmg

With 45 CD, 20 Cascade and 16 Nimble, you should be getting Azure Sword and LW/Freeze back after the boss doing their special move in overide. So the tech is not that needed usually. However it still help if your team can skip the Overide phase with SBA (captain SBA share and Ferry). Usually I only have to do this at most 2 times a fight, most of the time I don't have to

It's not that Katalina is difficult, but rather that these are all ways of circumventing the Ares mechanics intended by the developers. That's cool and all, but it's a lot of effort for little damage output.

do you have any tech to save Ares after using Sacred wind or her other buff skills?

I don't know honestly beside using skill. With 2 CD sigil and/or 1 Cascade you should be able to hold Sacred Wind for the full duration waiting for 1 charge of Frozen Blade to go back. If you use Emerald Shield or Light Wall, I usually use them with Azure Sword as their cooldown are very close to each other, which is when I want to have an opening or on demain protecting and attack. Light Wall up time is pretty much same as Azure Sword too. So you can use one as indication for the other duration. If you use heal, don't. Otherwise if you are planning to use freeze or support skill, just save 1 attack skill to be used later.

how do you interact with the fact that katalinas ares bar gain is bugged? the skilltree increases ares bar gain but they somehow missed a percentage or so and she's always 1mm away from the bar beeing filled up by certain combos which annoys me a bit, can we report bugs anywhere?

we don't really know if this is a bug or just intended design to force you to do one square>triangle combo to cap off the gauge. Maybe they thought it would be too strong if you could access ares with just 2 frozen blades into pact strikes well regardless, you can always hit up the official forums and make a post, probably the resource they read the most

I'm pretty sure it is, since the whole skilltree is full with it and after you get all these nodes, you still need the same combos to charge it up, but lets see@@shinkamui
