I enjoyed this show!! It would be nice if Grammo devised a category for old, vintage recordings (anything from 1920 to 1960) which could be recognized for performance excellence rather than technical brilliance. Of course, any such awards would be awarded posthumously.

Having been a subscriber to Gramophone for 46 years I have seen a decline in the quality and content of the issues especially over the last decade. The subscription 'offers' are so numerous it's confusing to choose which one to choose for best value. For loyal subscribers of the print edition, why are we frozen out of the digital archive that is offered to digital magazine downloaders for the same price. That's unfair.. The format seems tired and the magazine itself so frugal in articles the comparison with volumes from the 70's and 80's is stark indeed. The issues today seem like a supplement to something else that should be there, and in my case access to the digital archive that all yearly subscribers should have access to. We don't mind paying our subs, but some of us feel short changed with the present format that's fast becoming less relevant to classical fans that it used to be..
