You can watch things 100 times and it just takes 1 person to make it click. Thank you you saved me 45 minutes on my cooling with your video. Appreciate it. You’re a legend.

Check the temp before the yeast goes in. For super fast cooling, I bought a 20m poly pipe still coiled up added two hose connectors, plug garden hose in one end and other end to the blue grain father cooler hose, put the Polly pipe in a plastic tub full of old hello fresh ice packs and 100mm of water. Works a treat.

I have a question by using the wort to "sanitize" the chiller aren't you risking contamination considering the wort is not boiling at this stage. especially since the chiller may have been previously used and old wort is a breeding ground for bacteria ( yes even after thoroughly cleaning it ) there will still be standing water in it which will take ages to dry. please correct me if I'm just concerned.

If you’re using a hop spider, do you leave it in when you aerate the liquid after boiling is finished?

Hi, quick question: Doesn't recirculating the wort through the chiller (to sanitize it) mess up your trub cone previously created by whirlpooling?

I’ve not had an issue with hops clogging the pump. I do use a hop bag just to make it easy to clean.

Only if you're careless with how you're recirc. is going back into the boiler.

Hi, could I get away with a cold water flow rate of 1 litter per minute? My water temp is too high so I want to use my submersible pump in an ice bath but my flow rate is only a litter per minute.

I don't see why not, just slow down the flow of the wort. Thats what I'm planing on doing to not waste water

Hi @@theguru18 - I posted that question 3 years ago, and received no answer until yours today. 😂 That said, I’ve been using the submersible pump in a water bath successfully for years now.

Hi! My wort is coming out too cold. What is the best way to regulate this? Less flow rate into the blue tube?

Speed up the wort coming out.

Yes less water going in to the chiller.

hi, how many degrees (Celsius) do you recommend the liquid should be while going into the ferment-container... basically what is the ideal temp. when adding the yeast?

Hey Rojan, this really depends on the yeast you are using. Always check the yeast packaging for the recommended pitching temperature :)
