The good ol’ days when Rich still worked on stuff for customers to make most of his living. Good old days for us anyways, but I figure he doesn’t miss them! Props to filthy Rich for making it big enough on KZread he doesn’t have to do stuff like this anymore unless he wants to.

Not to be a dink, but it's pronounced Dep ker lol. I worked at the factory that built the grain trailers. The old ones all rot out like that. Too many spots for salt to hide. Great Work! Love the channel!

"Dep-ker" would be the Anglicized way to pronounce Doepker. Being a name of Germanic origin, the "oe" diphthong would make the proper pronunciation roughly "Doop-ker". :-)

Those trailers turned out nice. What the max weight you can haul up there in Canada? Here in Ohio, legal weight is 80,000 lbs for semis, but most guys end up coming into the elevators a good bit heavier.

It was a self etching primer and a single stage gloss black/white from our local Napa dealer. I think it was Pro-form. I just poked my head in his shop about a month ago and it still looks really good. No rust poking through just yet

Exchange rate has little to do with the price of those trailers, they are built in Canada. And it's pronounced Dep-Kerr.

If only I could remember the name of the color, this comment would be worth much more! But there are incredible rust protectors and I have a favorite that offers a 20-year warranty as long as it is overpainted with UV protective paint! I painted a totally rusted everywhere bike 30 years ago and it turned black from the transparent paint that wasn't even painted over so it shouldn't have lasted the way it did! Think the color was first developed for shipping but has found other uses. As it attaches directly to the rust, it is perfect to spray the inside of beams with, so they are protected against the condensation that inevitably forms! It was made in the USA anyway if anyone wants to try to find it...

Another great product is from DRY WASH'n GUARD, with headquarters in Las Vegas and they have many different types of products a professional painter use the Oxygone paint restorer mixed with some normal polish to get old paint shine like new especially after cleaning the vehicle whit DRY WASH'n GUARD who cleaning and putting some nanoparticles as protection and if you have used it the third time nothing will fasten anymore and you can see the effect after the first cleaning when all water doesn't stay on the surface anymore! One of the products I have learned to be very careful whit and its name is: DUST B' GONE if you get it on the floor you can't get it away and the floor gets so slippery that it is ridiculous! Cleaning a staircase with it would be a real death trap!!!
