There were some people on TV who had the Rangers as a wildcard team or missing the playoffs at the beginning of the season because we lost Kane and Tarasenko and got older. I would say our season was an A minus not a B minus with that being considered. The only reason why it’s not an A is because expectations evolved as the season progressed and we performed well

I’m not used to believing that there’s hope as a Jackets fan. What is this excitement you speak of?

I think the Flyers deserved an A. Finishing significantly higher than expectations for a rebuilding team arguably puts them ahead of schedule as that shows they're competitive and gives the group confidence. The thing with tanking is that it can instill a losing culture and the players aren't rlly getting any meaningful experience along the way which can lead to even more growing pains.

True I mean look at Buffalo

I want to say the hurricanes are in their lightning 13-19 phase but they’re not. 1- they don’t have the young stars Tampa did (esp in net and leadership core) 2-the longevity and constant injection of talent Tampa had is unbelievable 3-the patience Tampas front office showed was insane. All that said, I wouldn’t say there’s shame in losing to the prez trophy winner in the conf semis, esp when you outplay them but don’t get the bounces.

Maybe I don’t understand the grading system but NYRs seem to get kinda hosed. Like I know you don’t like them but your hair will grow back :D. For a team that was eliminated rd 1 last season vs NJ, how do you register a presidents trophy and final 4 appearance as a B- season? You have the Canes as a C (2 grade points lower) and they were expected to win the Cup :O. Also how in the world was the NJ season not a straight up failure?

Even as a Devils fan, I have to give credit where its due, you guys rebounded really well after last season. He definitely switched it to a B- because he hates the Rangers lol (Isles fan). It ended in disappointed (thankfully), but I don't see how anyone could be angry at the Rangers for their season. NJ doesn't deserve an F because everything that could have gone wrong went wrong for them this year. Imagine losing Adam Fox for the entire season, Trocheck and Panarin at the same time for a month, then losing Panarin again. Other members of the team were also injured for longer periods of time, our 3/4C was arrested (I can't even imagine what that does to the locker room), and on top of that all your starting goalie completely forgets how to stop the puck after a phenomenal season last year. Don't even get me started in coaching. There were games they should have had in a bag, but even if they made the playoffs they would not have gotten far with how busted they were by the end.
