Graded Silver Bullion Beginner's Guide - PCGS & NGC Slabbed 1 Oz... Good Idea?

Graded silver bullion - exciting for new collectors, possibly cool for seasoned ones, but also a contributor to a lot of bad feelings around the coin collecting industry. Let's go over the full picture on these coins from a stacking perspective and think about whether or not you should start buying (or how you should do so and plan to get out of them if you ever feel the need to move on).

Investing in AMARK stock- the company that owns the online bullion dealers- is a much better investment than buying bullion from them, slabbed or not. If you're strong on bullion- their stock has completely outperformed the bullion market. Invest in the business selling the shovels to mine, instead of buying the dirt?

Ive only bought slabbed eagles with what I think has some historic value. 2021 type 1/2's. Ms 70 and reverse proof type 1 and 2's. 2020 low mintage philly eagles. I still feel like a sucker. Its the collector in me.

My be I can help you. There are stickers and there are collector. Egales are W S P mint mart coins proof or burnished american silver egale coins ussaly graded by NGC PCGS or ANNEX graded MS 69/70 PF 69/70. You want to get egales series from 1986 - 2024 with S W P mint mark and any special egale mint sets with the S W P mint mark. It is a good envestment and fun. You can have any collectable coin graded and slabbed example morgan or piece dollar and start that collection. Then you have the regular SILVER STAKER who buy cheap 1oz silver that he/she in coins or bar they want to acuminlate as much silver weight as they can. Those coins you don't need to grade. The hole idea is to have fun collect silver/coins that you like and start a graded collection or stack weight collection. ❤

@@RobertBallMagicianit's gotten close to $50. only twice in history. Once was in the 80's when the Hunt Brothers tried to corner the market. I don't remember why it shot up in 2010. So it is possible. Personally I buy at $15 to $20. and dump it at $30. I start thinking about it at $28. Depending what I have in it. Buy low, sell high is the only way to make money with silver. Buying and sitting on it is losing money. I have friends who stack it and swear up and down that it's going to $100. As long as the silver mines are still producing it's never going to happen.

Beware of the rising number of fake coins. Look at this as a guarantee of a genuine coin, especially these days. The fakes are becoming almost impossible to detect w/o high end gear. The buyers also know this.

You are limited in who you are going to sell it to. Most people buy silver based on spot price. The plastic adds nothing to it. You're limited to a collector, or someone who doesn't know better.

I've stopped buying gold, for now. Instead, I'm buying graded silver at prices I would spend on fractional gold. Key, low-mintage dates of MS/PF 70 DCAM/UCAM and reverse proof Eagles, and MS64+ Morgans. Admittedly, a number of them are more than my resources can afford, for now, but I'm having fun with my new hobby that I will pass on.

Why? Grading costs more than an ounce of silver. People would then have to pay over double spot value to buy your slabbed coin, so it would be a tough sell.

I PAY 15-20 DOLLARS A COIN FOR GRADING FROM NGC OR PCGS GRADING SERVICES. BEEN A LONG TIME CUSTOMER AND HAVE ACCOUNTS SET UP WITH EACH OF THEM. I GET REGULAR DISCOUNTS FROM THEM ON GRADING SERVICES. CERTIFIED COINS ARE WORTH MUCH MORE THAN PLAIN COINS. WORTH THE INVESTMENT IF YOU HAVE MONEY TO SPARE AND ARE A LONG TERM INVESTOR 10-20 YEARS.

I especially believe you’re conveying the wrong message in this video to these people about the importance of a graded coin versus a raw coin. There is more to PMs than just spot prices. Don’t get me wrong but I have read all the post and comments here and there is a definite problem with how your opinion is affecting your audience views on graded coins. I have graded coins that are labeled that cannot be seen in or on raw coins, there is a big difference.
