Graco Pressure Roller - How To Use, Setup and Review

Using the Graco pressure roller on an exterior job. Looking at how to setup the Graco Pressure Roller with my Graco 390 airless paint sprayer. Using an inline gun, and HD extensions. I have the Graco Jet roller kit too but more often I find myself using the pressure roller.
The paint is fed straight into the roller sleeve so there is no spray involved, no potential overspray from accidentally pressing the trigger. This can be a great accessory for when you need speed of application and zero spray.
It doesnt need alot of pressure to work. Im running on around 400/500psi as even when I pull the trigger it isnt shooting out the roller too fast and creating the pattern on the roller. Its slowly filling the roller sleeve for even application.
A few options to buy. If you already have the extensions, you could just buy

    Thanks Steven appreciate the feedback. Ye I do like it, zero chance of over spray or accidental spray. If mainly whites and wanting to back roll the finish you just clip the roller cage onto the frame on the jet roller and cut in with the sprayer and then use it to work in the middle areas. I always think for general use what you get with the Jet roller kit is more benefial for total use. You get 2 extensions, a cleanshot valve, inline gun, another guard and a tip, then the cage. so a lot for your money really as you can use alot of that seperatly. plus many like to use there own sleeves and you can use any with the jet roller

    Are the standard Graco naps/sleeves polyester? I love the white microfiber sleeves because they roll so smooth and I can recoat quickly (polyester tends to take an hour or two to fully dry enough to recoat, and also spatter like crazy). It’s be a deal breaker for me if the Graco sleeves are the run-of-the-mill hardware store polyester material. It’d have to be either the tight knit polyester or microfiber to win me over… I’m addicted to the smooth finish I currently get with my current sleeves 😏 Also would have to be compatible with a pretty decent length extension pole as well.

  • @sprayaholic

    @sprayaholic

    3 жыл бұрын

    Sure next time im on one I'll sort something. To be honest If its smooth render, i do often roll. Its fast less masking, or i use the pressure roller alot. If its textured finish like pebble dash or rough cast, ideally its best to back roll anywsy so the roller pushes it onto the holes. Flat surfaces, if its on too light with spray it may show patchy. You can always do it on 2m x 2m squares. Sprayer vertical then horizontal, should eliminate that issue. But depends on the sheen on the finish. The previous coat could show a twxtire making it look like youve done a bad pass, shading or texture from rhe original surface.

  • @sprayaholic

    Appreciate it bud. Yes this is the inline version. I really like it. I'll try do a comparison video in next few weeks. If you wanted the 12inch youd be better off speaking with sprayman uk Or spraydirect. The 12inch head needs the nut connection if you're adding it to an extension. If you had the extendable one it fits straight on. Only draw back is the sleeves are.more expensive. Not loads heavier i dont think.

    Hi @Sprayaholic, I'm in the process of ordering the power feed roller but I just can't make my mind. Should I go for the rigid extension one or the telescopic? I believe the telescopic would serve my needs better (interior domestic jobs) but the length is not adequate (45cm to 90cm) so can you add a hd extension pole to it? Which one would be better you think? Thanks a million mate.

  • @sprayaholic

    Take the roller sleeve and scrape as much excess off and put it in a water bucket and clean. Then its just like cleaning an airless with an extension. When you run water through keep the pressure low and aim the frame into a bucket and pull the trigger. Once youre happy its clean enough i would just slide the roller on and quickly blow that through too. The roller sleeve is like cleaning a normal one. Or just price sleeves into the jobs and throw them
