    I love how excited Rener is every time he makes a video. It seems like he's doing it for the very first time even though he's been doing this stuff over and over and over again. I suppose that's one reason why Rener is so good: Everything keeps its interest to him.

    great thing about the kimura from the guard: If it doesnt work you can still go for a omoplate, take the back, go for a gogoplata, triangle etc. the biggest problem (even if I love the Kimura extremly), you have to set it up perfectly, and your timing has to be laser sharp.

    A question: when you get to the stage 1 of the punch block series, when you wrap your foot around his back, could he attack you in the groin with his knee? If yes, how do you defend against that? I'm just thinking about the street application for this technique. Please don't think I have bad intentions for asking this, I'm asking this because I'm genuinely interested, as you can see from this very newbie-ish question.

    Deniz Aydin not if they break your jaw or crack your skull.. Yeah, a nut strike sucks, but stomp on the head can potentially be WAY WORSE.. and to respond to the original question, hold your opponent tight. If he's focused on trying to hit you in the sack, I guarantee he's not trained in submission defense and will likely leave an opening for you. Someone who does something like that is desperate. Stay calm and keep training.

    It would help to demonstrate technique if each person had more vibrant colors. Instead of wearing a white gi, try blue and red. It makes it so you can see the two people and limbs very easy. Try to wear something that makes your body look more unique from his. (I know you have a voice and face and this and that, but a little color coordination might do wonders.)

  • @KrisSays

    @KrisSays

    9 жыл бұрын

    Number09 No disrespect for not using their names!... But, the initial "scoot" with the opposite side of the Kimura would be the first "block" as I have always been taught to keep the knees as "North" as possible unless you are jamming it in their "bum" for an escape. The second and probably most critical, once he has the set up of the Kimura lock...is to advance the same side knee "North" as to keep Reners' hips from sliding through... Probably not the best description. Hope that helps... Wish you the best in your studies!

    What I don t understand is why you need to scoot out on the side to finish. In my gym they teach it without getting to the side. I might be missing some details, but I feel like the scooting out to the side moment might alow for the opponent to roll over. Perhaps one can get punched if you don t scoot away from the free hand?
