Ive' been trying to tell buyers for a couple years that; the Minelab Gold Monster is a hyped-up detector. My 14 year old Whites MXT will hit a nickel at 16 inches; the equivelant to a one ounce gold nugget, (With the smaller Eclipse 5.3 mono coil,)It will hit a #8/.080 birdshot bb also. Good video. Maybe folks will wise up and stop dropping a $1,000.00 bucks on the GM.

Just a tip, with the monster it works much better with a slower swing. Also for both, don't do a swinging action, keep coil same distance from ground when sweeping, don't swing an arc.

Thanks Jack for the demo comparison. I think I will stick with the Monster for now. The new machine is too expensive on a fixed income. I have to rub the dirt with the small coil on the Monster to pick up some signals…….

Read the manual Dude. You AIR BALANCE the Monster when you turn it on. Then you GROUND BALANCE the machine in a CIRCLE. You are then ready to hunt.

Looked like the monster was set to low depth on the first test. So maybe it could have picked it up.

Which goes deeper would depend on the soil. In bad soil you may see a larger difference. In mild soil the VLF can go pretty deep.

Jack, the next time you hunt with the 6000, when you find a faint target, will you turn off the threshold and see if you still hear the target? You supposedly can run with the threshold off and still find targets. But, can you hear a target the same in either mode? Thanks.

I live in Alaska. We only get about 3 months without snow and 24 hrs of sun. Unless I plan to prospect in the snow in the dark? Lots of different terrain and creeks, and rocky beaches. Looking for mainly gold, and also native artifacts. So with money aside. What do you recommend for an all-around detector with a coil? 6 in sounds nice! How do you like the DD coils? Would like some depth as well. Lots of mountain rock here? Your advice will be honored!. I found a 7.97-gram nug just by chance. Got the fever now. I'm only worried about a bear sneaking up on me at the creek or somewhere.🤠

I’ve detected in nome a couple of times. The gold monster is a good machine. The gold bug 2. The GPX 6000 if you can afford. The equinox 800 with 6” coil. Mono coils will give you more depth. You got good gold in Alaska. Just make lots of noise as you walk to scare away the bears. Good luck.

@@GoldFeverAdventures Thank you!! I think I'm sold on the CTX 3030? Thanks for your support!!! I thought DD smart coils were better at depth? Don't let them coils that bite get ya, And don't sit on no prickly chair.🤠

Great video even if you didn't find any gold. Learning trash signals is education as well! Seeing a 10 minute video of someones 12 hours of detecting isn't an accurate representation. If you detect, prepare to dig trash.
