GPAA Claims and LIDAR maps
In this video I discuss how LIDAR maps can be used on GPAA claims to help prospectors remotely prospect a claim so they can determine points of interest to help better focus their boots on the ground time.
LIDAR maps are an incredibly powerful tool that helps you maximize your time in the field. It can help delineate vein trends the old time miners were chasing, as well as help with finding the long lost and forgotten about prospect pits and trails.

I render the maps from the raw data that is publicly available. The format that it would come to you is as a kml/kmz file that overlays directly in google earth.

I sell LiDAR overlays for a number of GPAA claims. But there is also an app now called CalTopo that has Lidar layers built into it for areas that have data coverage.

Check out the CalTopo app. It has Lidar layers built into it for areas that have Lidar data. The Lidar layer in the app is called shaded relief and is in the base maps.

Shoot me a message through here with rough coordinates. theprospectinggeologist.com/elementor-682/ AZ is a bit light on lidar coverage but I think there is some in the vacinity of Las Vegas. I’ll have to check tomorrow.
