GP5000 Honest Long Term Review After 7000 Miles! | 4k Close-Ups (It’s Not Pretty!!)

Ойын-сауық

In this video, I’m going to review the Gp5000 road bike tyres after 7000 miles!! Let’s just say, it’s not pretty, and I probably should have changed them a little while ago.
We will get up close and personal and see what 7000 miles do to these tyres and also compare the old pair of tyres to a brand new set!
I have the 25mm clincher version of the GP5000’s tyres, and they have been a dream for me.
Enjoy the video!!

    Just given my bike tyres a check over ready for a ride this weekend, and yep like yours here many little cuts and a few stones still in the tyre too. So jumped onto Merlincycles and thought now what to go for....was going to go with Victoria Cross G2.0 then remembered the older Gp5000's clinchers have been on for about 6000 miles and only about 1 flat - so 2 new GP5000's Clincher Browns :) ordered. PS London roads are not that bad compared to Pot Hole UK :)

    It seems I need to replace mine after a season of commuting, as cracks are appearing on the sides of the contact patch, which resembles dry rot. I guess they age faster when left exposed to the harsh northern elements.

  • @JourdainColeman

    @JourdainColeman

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hey!! I have used the Gatorskins as well and I would say the GP5000's are better all round. The gaters are basically bombproof, I had no punctures with them. But then the ride quality and grip is not as good. So the GP5000's win in my opinion. If I was just commuting then the gators could be a better choice. Nt if you do a mix of longer rides and commuting, I'd take the 5000's 👍🏽

    Will be down to the threads in 5000km on 28mm 5000s tr run at 75 psi. 2 flats in the first 600kms was underwhelmed tbh after running gp4000s for a decade. Conti traded longevity for rr. 2mm thick vs. 3mm on gp4000. Like to consider the p zero race with smart wall when they become more readily available.
