just because people are up there doesn't mean they're part of his band. they're paid musicians asked to play instruments live with him. in the album he's the one who made all of the music

no if you watch the making of making mirrors he has his friend (the one playing bass on stage) play bass and has the original guitarist from his band the basics playing pedal steel
