Agree Top players coming through when it counts...is what playoff success is about. Avs do it...and Leafs don't...and I'm a Leafs fan....although a big fan of Mackinnon, as well as Makar.

The Jets aren't getting enough attention for being just plain horrible. Hellebucyk's numbers are so bad in this series. He makes Samsonov look like .... at least a decent goalie. Granted, I think Colorado is capable of humiliating just about anyone.

Cale Makar personally traumatized the jets entire defense

I used to go into the Boston Garden and watch Orr. Now I have the ability to watch Makar. The best part of being able to see these two in action is to watch them away from the puck, their positioning , their footwork, always thinking one or two plays ahead.

Great individual effort by a great player. This is what playoff hockey has to be about, It's on this stuff that the Leafs have failed up to now. Big players have to really step up. Avs have had all their great players come through with scoring, Class team!

Actually avalanche scoring has been significantly more evenly spread to different players in these playoffs than during season.

Sad, but true. Then again, obnoxious Boston doesn't win many Cups, but is a team every fake & real season. The next Canadian team to bring back the Stanley is prob Montreal. Cause they hired Boston guys. Though, I hoping EDM is healthy enough to do it this/next yr. MTL is 4 yrs away.

@@PositronMcHappy Ya. When I think of who the next Canadian Stanley Cup winner will be, I never think of it being the Jets or the Leafs. Montreal came close in 2021. Was a bit surprised that they weren't better the following year. Maybe lost too many guys that got them to the finals.

I attended this game sort of last minute and damn I'm so happy I got to see this one and the Big Val hatty. The arena was a mad house!!!

I started watching hockey with Makar's first game as a professional: out of college that week, first game in the NHL during the playoffs, and scoring. Unbelievable.

Nah. I watched every game this season. Their best player is MacKinnon. He has no bad games. Makar, sometimes turns it over in the Avs zone, and those guys end up scoring. In addition, there were stretches of several games where Makar had no points. MacKinnon produces every single game, pretty much. Without Mac, this team wouldnt go anywhere.

Good lord. What a dude. This is the thing with the Avs, they've got some real dudes there that can singlehandedly win games, and so far, its the role players that have come up big for the most part. I was sleeping on them but not any more.

Real season is dif. The goalie is still elite, the team isn't. See: Maple Leafs, even my Habs beat several times.

@@FloydRunner2049 it's the playoffs against a highly rated defense in front of a Vezina goalie. Just because it looks easy and casual to you doesn't mean that was. How many defensemen do you see going coast to coast to score a goal? Any that you could name would either be elite or generational. Hell most forewards can't do this. I heard the same bullshit when Makar casually stole the puck from McDavid in the playoffs a few years ago while McDavid was on a breakaway. Makar skates backwards and casually takes it away from him. That's, in part, what makes it amazing. They make it look easy. Yet McDavid's fans insisted it wasn't impressive. Hard to diminish a play without dimishing the opposition. Have it your way. It's not impressive. Lol.

Avs putting up on average 40 SOG every game? I am pretty sure they werent allowing that many SOGs during the regular season.

There’s Cale and Quinn and the every other defenseman. Cale torches the jets and Quinn makes Nyquist look like a fool

Guys !! I don’t mean to be a buzz kill but he got lucky for that bounce in the neutral zone. He deserves all the credit don’t get me wrong but it could have been a disaster also. Buddy is generational but Jesus it could have been different.

Great goal but he got lucky with the bounce at the beginning. Nowhere near goal of the year.
