Not an avs fan but makar is one of the only top players that I actually like. He’s unbelievable and apparently an awesome dude in person. Went to my grandparents complex and met with everyone who lived there

Even just watching the first goal, the creativity and elusiveness creating the open ice then passing to Toews to get set up for an immense wind up into a laser beam passed the goaltender.. just amazing. Makar is a legend in the making, he will be the most dynamic and talented dman of our generation and us Avs fans are spoiled to have him.

This kid is something special for sure. One of those players that comes around every decade or so. Looking forward to his future and I’m not even a Colorado fan.

That lateral skating thing he does is beautiful.

i love how this video is about his goals getting more impressive as it goes on and my jaw already dropped by minute 1 because his edgework is so beautiful

@@cameronelisha3573 C'mon... Marner has scored at ~95-110 point paces for 4 seasons in a row now while also being elite defensively and one of the best PKing forwards in the league. Plus he has super fun highlights because of his creativity, he's just a really fun/exciting player to watch.

You know you're an insanely talented hockey player when you can be a superstar defenseman while also having the offensive touch of even the NHLs very elite top forwards... I mean the kid honestly was made in a lab for all we know. You can watch him play and look intensively to TRY to find things he lacks at, but wont even find the most minor of flaws in his game... Oh, AND he's a cool, classy, humble, and overall just a down-to-earth kinda guy. Great time to be an AVS FAN ;)

@@Bleighckquesin the '22 Cup run, the defense put up offensive numbers equal to an extra 2nd line on a contender team. imagine having any random team and saying "yeah, here's a free second line you can have under the cap and dress each game. enjoy!" they're a cheat code for sure

2:41 you can see the contrast in awareness and decision making from Toews and Makar. Toews tries to go for a clear (always a good play on the PK don’t get me wrong) Makar sees the open ice for a shorthanded opportunity. We saw in real time the thought process of two players at high speed who made different decisions in the same situation

Toews is criminally underrated enjoying life in Makars shadow. If Makar weren't on the Avs, it'd be the Devon Toews show. Avs are insanely lucky to have those 2.

Love my Avs!! Such an exciting time for them! And just think, 5 years ago they had one of the worst seasons in NHL history. Makar is a godsend. That goal against the Blackhawks was just jawdropping perfection. I've lost count how many times I've watched it and it still blows me away 🤯

These two together are insane because they have such supreme skating abilities! Is Sammy G the third best skater on the team? Can I put him up there with those 2 as like best skaters in the league? Side note: I’m a Rangers fan and although it’s different, Panarin and Fox have that top tier vision, playmaking/passing ability. Not the same as the Avs boys but the duos playing together for their respective teams makes it a must watch.

People who don't think he has a case for best player in hockey clearly don't watch Avalanche games. These are just the sort of things he can do offensively. He's a nightmare to deal with defensively. I'll say McDavid is the best player in hockey. For now.

After watching and being a fan of the Avs for 25 years, I'm ecstatic about what they can do with their core now. It really sucks that Kadri left but I understand why, I am really glad they kept Nichushkin and Lehkonen though. I'm also glad Avs didn't win the cup during COVID or while above the cap. The win by the Avs was true with no doubt why they won. I said at the beginning of last season to my buddy, if they win the cup it's going to be because of Makar, and it was.

That was Peter McNab, our color commentator who recently passed away.

Maker is an extremely cerebral player, he is thinking his next move all the time. Definitely my kind of player, he’s so sharp!

Apparently Cale is a big deal in Denver so I decided to watch his highlight video. I liked the last goal where he did a super fast cutback if that's what it's called. He has a great backhand shot. One commenter in another video compared him to Bobby Orr. I"m not a huge hockey fan so I googled Bobby Orr and they are apparently both defense men.

Nope. Learn the sport. Mackinnon got to that ice first and the other player ran into him. You are not required to move out of the way of other players. If you get to a spot on the ice first then you own that spot. Mackinnon also just had the puck, so it was a check against Mackinnon anyway...

When i see wrist shots like that i think of wendel clark. Clark had a bullet wrist shot with a wooden stick. I wonder would the new sticks have made a difference and vice versa would like to see makar shoot with a woodie. Gonna be nice to watch and see how good this kid gets.
