I remember this was my first ever video game I played. I remember watching my dad play this on his awful computer and waiting for like 10 mins just so the loading screens would load. What a game.

This was the first Gothic I played! Also on my dad's computer haha. It was awesome because I remember hearing birds outside through my balcony and also in the game. Good memories

I played it first time back in 2007. Yeah the loading screens were crazy, for like 3 minutes. And then you die to a single wolf who put you into stagger, and repeat :D But it was still something. I mean, the alternatives for me were Gothic 2, Morrowind, and Witcher 1 some time later. But I still played gothic 3 a lot, even in 2012.

​@@Chrysamer77 I also played it in 2007 when it came out. It was one of my first games, so there is a lot of nostalgia and love for this game from my side. However, after playing Gothic 1 and Gothic 2 years later, I have to admit that Gothic 3 really cannot compete with these titles. They are superior in almost every aspect.

This was such a good game but underappreciated. Glad it's getting some attention now almost 20 years later (hard to believe it's been that long...)

no it wasn't, g1 and g2 was much much better. g3 maybe had quite pretty world fot its time and nice music but its lacking in the most important things.

Gothic series was my entire childhood and to this day I still play the games.

listening to the soundtrack of gothic 3 you have thousands of memories of this game and of your childhood until you go back to those years when you first played this game :( tears come to your eyes

Damn soundtrack from gothic is such a masterpiece I like this notalgic vibe before sleep 😴

Auch wenn Gothic3 mehr als unglücklich erschienen ist, ist es trotz allem ein Spiel mit Seele und Liebe. Heute ist das Spiel das, was es hätte sein sollen. Ein Meisterwerk, das viel zu wenig Anerkennung bekommen hat. Alles in Allem wirklich ein würdiger Abschluss der Serie gewesen. Ich vermisse Gothic einfach so sehr. Die Zeit war unbeschwert und märchenhaft. Gothic hat mich schon immer begleitet und irgendwie inspiriert. Heute sind es Nostalgie und wunderschöne Kindheitserinnerunge, die ich mit der Reihe verbinde...

Pamiętam gdy pierwszy raz zagrałem w Gothic 3, miałem może 11-12 lat, grę pożyczył mi kolega z klasy :) kurwa nigdy nie zapomnę tego soundtracku, wtedy robił mega klimat, dziś jest tak samo;) mimo iż mój stary komputer ledwo dawał sobie rady z tą grą, bawiłem się świetnie! Ta gra na zawsze pozostanie w moim sercu

One of the best game soundtracks out there. In the RPG genre, and especially open world games- close to the top. Very smooth, never gets old and creates a fantastic atmosphere.

Such a masterpiecce of a game. Even with all these bugs i didnt mind at all. i was enjoying at the fullest. MASTERPIECE MASTERPIECE MASTERPIECE. Today they dont even come close to make such a great game.

I cant believe I havent heard or seen this game before, I stumbled upon this music by accident and instantly fell in love. I know I have heard countless songs where they have sampled some parts of this music, and I understand why.. such masterpieces!

Fantastic game in concept, but such a missed opportunity. Let's hope the Gothic remake will be a banger.

Despite it's flaws (I didnt know/care because I was too young back then), I love this game and its ambience and music

I was sitting there in my small room at the end of 2006 on my PC with a tube monitor, playing Gothic 3 at midnight. My girlfriend at the time was already asleep in bed to the left of my desk chair. I was turning the pork spit over the fire in Geldern, listening to the plucked sounds of "Geldern at night". I will never forget that time.

I love G1,2 and 3... the G3, with that community patch is truly amazing game. It´s huge, no loading screens, story is great, love the fact that you can liberate cities. I absolutely love Varant.

Hmmm it might be time for me to revisit this game. I remember I never was able to beat it. I remember doing a snowy area and then getting to a desert area, but I don't remember anything after that

Yes it does take some time to travel and record the shots, but I must say, I love it, the idea of it, to see what the developers created, to go to places I would never normaly go in normal gameplay, its pure joy 😀 and yes, Kai did am amazing job with all Gothic soundtracks, I loved this music since day one of Gothic 1 😁 Take care!

the developers were piranha bytes, which are being bought by THQ Nordic. The Publisher was Jowood which is bankrupt. And piranha bytes wont go bankrupt, stop spreading misinformation. Ty @@ddv1647

Miss this time

Its insane how only the main theme of this game brings back so many good memories of my childhood. Actually miss those times and the friends I shared my experiences with in this game... G3 had its flaws but still was a very unique game :/

I istalled Gothic 3 yesterday, and did updated it with patches and some mods, it is still beautiful. The Gothic remake is a remake about the first game, and I dont know how far they got with it but we got a teaser/trailer last year. Lets hope it will be something to remember, but that game wont replaxe these first 3 games, never. Take care!

Unfortunately, there are sound distortions (clipping) in some places. For example, 11:48...12:03, 12:43...12:47, 13:03...13:05, 13:15...13:19, 15:40... Some other videos on your channel also have this problem. It would be wonderful to fix this, because such an impressive job has been done.

there is something going on with german game developers, no reason for them to crash and burn but it keeps happening

Really nicely made video but there's something seriously wrong with audio peaks in this one. Both my headset and speakers start farting at peaks like: 11:49 Kinda unbearable tbh. Wish you could remade it at some point in the future as this would probably be by far my favorite Gothic 3 ambience video :)

I always have been fan of Gothic. I started since Gothic II, later Gothic I and then Gothic II Raven Night, so we can say I am generation of people who played Gothic before the Gothic III appeared, but you know what? As veteran of Gothic I and II, I propably should say that Gothic III is worst, but no...I totally understand climate, story and characters of two first parts, but Gothic III still is best imo, even if many people won't agree...

this game honestly sucks absolute balls (tried to play through thrice but never got further than a few hours) - the only redeeming quality about this game is the sound track. Made by the very talented Kai Rosenkranz (also made the OST for Gothic I and Gothic II), with so much love and attention to detail. It is a huge shame he doesn't get more credit.

Polish people perfectly knows whole trilogy :D (Arcania is not gothic...)

This was both a terrible Gothic game, as well as a terrible game on its own at release - so it was rightfully slammed for what it was. But the elements of something great were there - the atmosphere, the music, the world, Gothic 3 did so many things very, very well. Shame that it spectacularly failed at even more.

Yes, I remember how disappointed I was, coming from gothic 1 and 2. The game ran badly and could not enjoy it. But I gave it another try a few months after I uppgraded my pc, and it grew on me and ended up liking it alot 😁 The soundtrack had a big impact, I have to admit👌

Not terrible, just unfinished. That's a big difference. And all thanks to JoWooD.

I finished the first and second parts of Gothic three times, but not the third part once. The combat system didn't suit me, I preferred the one from the second part. But I think it's time to return to the land of Myrthana and complete the third one. 😂
