Bruce's reaction to seeing Theo as Azrael showed that that gives him the idea for his Batman persona in the Gotham universe.

At this point i kinda doubt this moment did it for him, Id say that vision he had when he saw himself as the dark knight gives him an idea for it. I just think when he see's Azrael jumping in the shadows was a little foreshadow.

I loved Azrael in Gotham. His suit design was cool, and the actor was great! Though his character is a bit different from the comics, he is probably one of my favorite villains from the show. ps song fits perfectly

Gotham was AWESOME for doing what no movie or series had the BALLS do, that's give a variant of my favorite character, Azrael. While I prefer Jean Paul Valley, this version, Theo, is very awesome. But it would have been better if he was an antihero rather than a villian. All the same, I'll take what I can get and be grateful for it.

Theo was annoying but Azreal was an epic badass. Huge mistake killing him off. At least he went out with an awesome death.

Azrael!

I have toa dmit, there is something just kind of...epic, about Theo's movements, body language, voice, facial expression. He makes crazy look awesome. He's a BadAz. Not like Michael Lane Washington, who was a DumbAz. Nor is he like Azbat, who was kind of an Azhole. And JPV was awesome as Azrael but sometimes he could be a SmartAz and sometimes when he was jacking around, he was kind of a JackAz (though still my favorite version). But Theo's a BadAz.

I`d argue compared to who he was in life(A ruthless,calculating,sociopathic cult leader willing to sacrifice a child just to get revenge for his family being erased from Gotham`s official history despite them having helped build the city and manipulate his own niece to lure said young boy to the slaughter)Theo as Azrael was an anti-hero.The old Theo would not have hesitated to kill Penguin.

Theo as Azrael unknowingly trying to get revenge on Gordon for killing him isn't anti heroic because Theo deserved to die since Strange only sent him to kill Jim because Jim was getting close to exposing Strange's experiments. Anti heroes do bad things for goo reasons. Theo did bad things for bad reasons both as himself and as Azrael.

I said compared to how he was in life for a reason.Yes,Azrael was more of a straight-up villain compared to his Comic Book Counterparts.I never claimed he wasn`t.I was merely making the point Azrael displayed more of a sense of honor than Theo in life ever did.

Xehanort10 he was tricked and brainwashed into trying to kill Gordon as Strange told him that Gordon was a killer which he is. So Theo as Azrael was doing what he thought was right so in a way he is an anti-villain.

@William Afton/Dave Miller Also,Theo was brainwashed with the personality and memories of an ancient Knight who named himself after the Angel of Death.Thus,it`s heavily implied that just as in The Comics Azrael is a legacy title held by multiple acolytes of the Order of St. Dumas.

Batman needs appear fast gotham needs him!

They could have kept Azrael on the show. Hugo Strange, in his hubris, creates a hero as part of some social experiment. Azrael could have been programmed to kill all criminals, Theo Galavans belief in the Order of St Duma could have been used by Strange to conicince him that his destiny was to become Gotham’s saviour, the hero of his family’s ancient blood land. In his cleaning up of Gotham, Azrael would remember who he is and would confront Strange. But instead of dying, he escapes to live another day. In the Narrows, he is worshipped as a grim reaper. He fights Bane in No Mans Land. Bruce is inspired to become him. So Gotham could have brought his arc full circle with him instead training the son of his families ancient enemy.

I was talking to my friend about red hood and how i wish he would be in the arrow universe and she said that he was in it I have looked through most of them and I think she got him muddled up with this incarnation of Azazel. but then again that helmet looks a lot like Jason's I wonder if they did that on peruse.

The original Red Hood gang appears in the first season of *Gotham* , in the episode simply called "Red Hood". He's doesn't appear at all in the Arrowverse; During the second season of *Arrow* , he was heavily rumored to pop up in the second part of the season, but it was not to be...

This was an Incredible Masterpiece for My Sixth Favorite Villain in Gotham. Theo Galavan was a Really Great Villain but Azrael was an Amazing Antagonist. Gotham just knows how to make a Pretty Good Villain Ten Times Better.

"Bruce Wayne. We were sent to kill him. He dishonoured our family name." Theo stabs Tabitha. "Thank you for reminding me. Traitor."

The trial has arrived, Gotham is the jury, and Azrael the executioner

As much as I like Gotham I don't know what the writers were thinking killing Theo off again 2 episodes after resurrecting him as Azrael. They kill Theo off twice but bring back that annoying bitch Fish.

Now that I think about it it would have been great if Theo had stayed alive, killed Fish and took over leadership of Strange's experiments as basically a new group of Maniax.

you know it hit me. what if Theo really is azrael?! azrael is said to be immoral and Theo was shot with a shotgun then fell from a building landing smack dead on a car and is still alive. Theo could be a reincarnated azrael.

Azarel should’ve been the next Batman in the dark knight trilogy. With John Blake Being his Robin. And throughout the next few films we see him go more and more crazy and John Blake has to fight him and take him down in the last film

Theodore Galavan is not the real Azrael. The original or real Azrael is Jean-Paul Valley. Jean-Paul Valley has a flaming sword including the flaming battle projectile gauntlets. Theodore Galavan doesn't have a flaming sword and he also doesn't have the flaming battle projectile gauntlets. Jean-Paul Valley's quotes were I don't want to play games or fight with you Bruce, I am your best friend and it doesn't matter Bruce, God will protect us. Theodore Galavan didn't say any of these quotes.

Depends, many people had be brainwashed to think that they are Azrael. I don't think he will come back on Gotham anytime soon, But this is not the last time for Azrael's character.

This honestly is my least favorite version of Azrael Gotham got him all wrong Azrael from Arkham Was my favorite and honestly that version deserves his own movie or something other then just a DLC
