How do you feel about Gotham Knights?

I honestly like the game its probably up there as 1 of my favourites i love playing robin and batgirl she is especially helpful with mines and robins is great at denying space. I think it had a pretty bad launch it was not great the servers were dreadful and co op did not work i really prefer gotham knights to the Arkham games. The only thing i would like to see is some new characters that would be cool like stephanie brown and damian wayne. Apart from that i honestly rate it a solid 8.5 out of 10. Honestly i dont even care its on 30fps on xbox game now dont lag and feels fluid just wish my moronic brother wouldnt get in the way and set off every mine when im trying to play lmao

It got too much hate at launch, in feb of 2023 the game is way better than people thought it out to be. Fighting is way better due to the timed attack feature.. one of the main problems i have is its traversal system. The trapeze and batgirls gliding is good but the others are terrible.

I had fun played it once alone and then with a buddy. Hoping it gets some dlc.

This game got way too much hate from the community. If you go into this thinking it's an arkham sequel you will be disappointed but as a standalone this game is awesome. Co op being completely seamless is 100% overlooked as many games have failed trying co op and the way that crimes occur somewhat randomly premeditated or not is a very unique gameplay feature. The customization of each hero is also awesome. I copped this on sale and even got my friend who doesn't like batman stuff to get it on sale and he actually likes it a lot. I remember when arkham origins and knight came out and everybody hated on those games a ton, but now they are looked back on with good memories. I think gotham knights will be similar to those games in that sense

Thats why I think on sale its definitely a 7 or 8 to me because overall I do think its good but for $69 I think maybe it lacked in some areas, I still enjoyed playing it though

I really enjoyed the Arkham Game, replaying Arkham City on PS5, Loving it again, but Gotham Knights isn't the same maybe when it's $10 it might be a pick up

Honestly it's not very good bro. And I played both games.

The combat wasn't the opposite for me, it was really boring at first but once I learned the different attack combinations I was hooked

Same reason an album dropped before its due time lacks that full, amazing experience that the fan base in full really wants. The support isn't there all the way through and money always takes priority in our world. These people worked really hard and got cut short just as hard as us fans did. 💙🦇

I still think it was fun but definitely missing some stuff

I liked the character interactions. It highlighted Bruce as a father. I wanted more story based missions for interactions between them. I swapped characters through out to hear their dialogue. I liked Harley in this game. The Blackgate mission was my favorite. I usually don't like co-op but it was fun for this game. Costume designs were great. I had fun playing. The mentions of other heroes and teams (Red Hood and The Outlaws) having pictures around the Belfry was a plus. It took parts from across all series for the story and character identities. I appreciated that. I'd like to see more from this series. It needs more story and team interactions outside the Belfry. I'd like to see what they do to the Belfry and what villains they'd bring in.

Just finished the game today. I enjoyed the game. It wasn’t perfect but I had fun playing it. I thought the ending was really good. Or at-least the ending I got. I would rate it a 8/10

I really like the look of this game. I did from the very first gameplay trailer. So it’s not 60fps. Not a big deal for me. Once you’re immersed in the world, you’ll soon forget about it. Batgirl looks awesome, closely followed by Robin. Great video. Thank you bro. 🙏🏻

one of the major reasons i skipped this was the performance on consoles. not even being locked at 30fps at this point is just incredibly bad. i’m not generally one to nit pick on that kind of stuff but i’ve seen slide-show-like gameplay and i can’t overlook that.

You, polished games will have a performance mode at 60 frames and the awesome visuals mode at 30, so 30 is a normal mode for games.

@@Brayzon The PS3 had an MSRP of $500 - $600 at launch. Each game is different. A console is scientifically hindered from running EVERY game at 60fps. Even if you throw in the best components (which Sony didn't do), you'll be limited to throttle the performance down due to heat management from circuits and the standard of consoles being significantly smaller in size. I think Sony oversold their consoles to be these miraculous machines. I have a 2060 laptop and it plays GK at 60fps. People argue that a PS5 is as good as a 2070. Then why can't it even support the 30fps? I also have a 1080ti based PC that runs it at 60fps. No one really talks about these things becaue if you insinuate that consoles are limited in performance, it unravels the narrative of the big marketing Sony & Microsoft played out. Both games are running the exact same game files (as proven by Digital foundry). We have to admit that a console must be physically bigger to not throttle its performance and also have components that get the job done. This being said, Gotham Knights is a different game overall, the devs did their very best to give a multiplayer game, untethered play in an open world and doesn't run a lot of processes server side (but locally on your machine). There is no other game on the market like Gotham Knights from a technical perspective. If WB spent the money, they could have easily paid for server famrs to run AI, missions, and crime activities server side and then hosting will also take that into account. This is what Ubisoft does with The Division & The Division 2 and this is what Outriders did as well. The downside is that it opens you up to the possibility of only playing the game while connected to the internet (which would suck), or dealing with severe server issues when connection is poor from the host. As a content creator, I recommend researching to see if you can find a comparison from a technical stand point that is able to run at 60fps on the PS5. If there is, reply on this comment and prove me wrong. I mean no disrespect, I just would love for nuance to be in a conversation when technical aspects of games are discussed. It really helps better understand the gaming landscape. Thanks!

@@VGFightSchool First off I love your content! I definitely dont take it as disrespect, we all have things we can improve on constantly! I definitely am no where near as knowledgeable on server side as you are. But personally I think if games on Android or IOS are running at 60 fps(Call Of Duty Mobile) or close to 60 fps I think people that buy a console should be able too as well. I honestly did enjoy the game I just think for the graphics and length it was a little overpriced, Miles Morales knew that people would complain about their price so they came out at $49 I believe. Like I said personally the FPS didn't ruin my experience but I definitely think it is something billion dollar companies should be able to figure out, we have full AI streamers and self driving cars LOL

30fps ruined the games hype. And the devs tried to hide it before it was leaked.

I think people underestimate the work it takes to add in 10 different playable characters into games like these IMO!

I actually really enjoyed the story bits, I mained Robin, and I genuinely found that he was done well and his dialog wasn't cringe like most new games. I enjoyed everytime he was in cutscenes, the game felt like a TV show to me, which I think is a good thing. I play on Xbox, and 30fps definitely was rough, especially now. But I enjoyed the game overall playing as Robin, and feel like I got my money's worth.

@@Brayzon my only complaint after playing 15 hours is the camera view, no auto lock bad guys and no gliding aroubd the city. Otherwise game is a solid 7/10. I can see why some people trashed the game because they thought it would be identical to other Batman games

I played it as a game by itself and I genuinely enjoyed my self a lot! Comparing it to previous other batman games is wrong, especially when he's not here outside of a bunch of cutscenes. It should almost be treated as a new game with a new never seen before world and characters and take some clues only by comics and cartoons. In that way, you can't give anything for granted, but instead admire all the details and flow of the game. For €25 it will be a no brainer, while €40 only if you want a: good graphics/ superhero/open-world game with hours of stuff to do.

But they never said it should be seen as a continuation. I feel bad for them, because they're not guilty. They also never said there was a connection to Arkham games for some easy money. It's another universe which has nothing to do with the trilogy, but people be treating Gotham knights as if they are still making Arkham: Origins... It's crazy The worse mistake of WB Montreal is the price tag. For 40€ many arguments would have been less offensive towards them and more reasonable in my opinion

the problem is that the arkham series was done so near perfect that this game was never gonna live up to those games. personally arkham knight was my least favorite of the arkham games though. my favorite part of the arkham games was fighting large, varied groups of enemies, and arkham knight hardly had any of that anymore. it got rid of most of the melee combat in favor of multi stealth takedowns and batmobile tank battles. i haven't played gotham knights but i could tell just by watching some gameplay footage it was a step down from the arkham series. you expect them to try to make a next gen batman game superior to the ones that came out back on the ps3, but this game just looked to be lacking everything that made those games so special.

Honestly they shouldve just done it as final chapter of the arkham series, i think that wouldve changed alot of perspective on the game and probly wouldve had a better review especially since rock steady spent so long teasing that they were working on a game similar to this idea for the longest time and then it was such a punch to the gut similar to arkham origins with " oh btw were not really doing that anymore but these guys are."

@@Brayzon well i decided to buy it, so far, it feels like an arkham game, i kinda do enjoy the clunky feel of the combat and all, i feel like it highlights tremendously that theyre having to figure how to not be support now that batman is gone, think about it, all the nights up unto that point they were strategic supports with maybe exception to hood and knightwing, they spent their whole careers watching batmans back more than anything while he handled everything directly so now hes gone and they have to figure out their places and stand on their own, which makes me kind of appreciate the "clunky controls" a bit more, it feels like im in the shoes of junior heroes who dont really have an idea of how to "run the show".

@@Brayzon however story wise, you could directly link it to arkham knight if you remember if you get the 100% ending we see batman walk into the manor and it suddenly blows up, if we do just a smidge of reworking to the narration after that point you could legit easily call gotham knights the final chapter in the arkham series.

@@Brayzon only reason thus so far that this game doesnt hit the same for me is because of how much im missing batman. He wouldve been pretty dope to see on this game and perhaps they had plans to revive him to make him playable later but im sure thats scrapped now that kevin conroy is no longer with us. So yeah i definately think i will whole heartedly enjoy this game and how the heroes are feeling a little off their top game. The opening scene definately hit harder knowing that kevin died for real and this will be one of the last of his works.

The combat is trash in my opinion... sure to basically having to follow the same formula over and over for each type of enemy... you can't break their chains... you just have to avoid until your opening... the traversal is terrible... the open world looks ate hot and miss...empty in many places but some real good at direction in others... it's a 6.5

This game is way too expensive for its quality and density of content. In addition, there are many really baffling design decisions that ruined the game for a lot of people. Personally, I dont think the hate this game is getting is unwarranted and 6 or 5 out of 10 is basically appropriate. I also want to bring up that this game is developed by the same studio that made Arkham Origins and they havent made anything major since Origins, whatever implications that brings.

I agree if it was cheaper I think I could warrant a higher score but for $70 definitely a 6 for me

You know I ain't bought the game but I know DC and Marvels like the back of. Y hand right. It's like this I prefer Peter Parker not Mike Morales Peter Parker is Spiderman to me not the other..but I get why they gotta write this pass the torch crap. Of course now it's a Spiderman dimension of whatever the new news is...but yeah even Spiderman fans would agree. Nobody like this "passing the torch" it doesn't make sense. Specially when you factor that Bruce can use the Lazarus pits if they would stop messing that up .heck Bruce could buy a sane version..even if not principle. But I digress. As far as the community opinion goes...question how many of em know batman issue#1 by heart? My thoughts exactly...unfortunately that point of logic won't stop the ignorant comic writing..and it won't stop politicians from pushing hurtful narratives or segregative narratives that are hypocritical in the end..which this game as far as yt screening goes..has way too many..what happened to Dark knight...comics should be an escape..not a mirror into certain aspects. New Gen politic writes bads are effing my batman and DC universe and effing my marvel. I'd wish they'd stop. So yes I agree with the hate..even though I couldn't really have a clue about the graphics. Writers need to stop pushing this political new Gen crop every second they get.

I have a PC, ps5 can run at 120 frames, so games coming out at 30 is unacceptable IMO

I seriously think they should just make an Arkham beyond game Bruce is dead in the Arkham verse time to move on to the next best Batman which is Terry McGuiness

This was the greatest Batman game EVER made. The most under-rated gem of the century in my opinion. The Arkham games could learn a lot of from this incredible master-piece.....Said no one...ever....

@@Brayzon Ah the man himself, I agree with everything you said. It's not a bad game, I completed it and enjoyed it. Just being back in the Batman universe was a treat, I also love how they made the thugs look, more buff and brutal. It's weird - some areas look AMAZING in missions, others look so under-whelming, I think this got rushed, I really do.
