Enjoyed watching you upgrade this sampler. I recently upgraded my emu esi-32 with an oled screen and a zuluscsi. Both upgrades made a huge difference, making the sampler much easier and faster to use. How’s your screen?

Thank you for your kind words and for watching my video. I'm glad you were able to find it. My screen is still the OEM Akai screen. I've never had any problems with it since new. Rich vibrant back light and no contrast issue like my S2800 has

Everything to run the Gotek is installed if purchased from a reputable seller and you selected the thumb drive memory stick option. Make sure to back up all the contents of it ie disk images

Thanks for posting this was thinking of getting one as my scsi zip drive has gone faulty plus bitrot is affecting my 3.5disks. I did notice when you powered up the s2000. Its led display screen did not illuminate green was there a reason for this?

Many thanks for watching my video.. I do have a spare working zip drive if you'd like it. Just cover the postage. If the back-light is not working, it's normally a faulty and cooked inverter driver. You can buy replacement retro fit neon EL kits from retro illustrations

...Hello there ...great video ...I've done the installation with the Gotek running FlashFloppy ...but it still dosen't work ...I ended up upgrading the rom chip to boot the OS and that works fine ...so my questions are ...what jumper setting are you using on the Gotek ??? ...what FF.CFG configuration are you using ??? ...and what disk IMG do you use ??? ...thanks loads

I unfortunately am not the best person to answer this as I paid for all my goteks to be plug and play. Never had any issues with any of them as I have back up files for them. Looking in the support folder for mine it clearly states that the jumper pins for the S2000 are S1. And mine work using FF.CFG - IMAGE_A.CFG - IMG.CFG & INT_A.CFG

Hi I have accidently formatted my operating system file on my usb stick and now its showing as corrupt on a pc and it won't boot on the s2000? I need another operating file to replace my old file do you have a link to where i can download?

as soon as I installed the Gotek Emulator Drive can I use this to open my s2000 sampler? where will i put my OS to open my gear? hope you can help me..thanks

@andrewaranda4215 what do you mean by the term open your gear? The S2000 paired with a reputable gotek will offer great ease of use and more enjoyable. I've had to relearn a lot about all my samplers. I was a right know all in the 90s and could do amazing things with them. Having a gotek is basically a storage device that holds disk images, and with stored or saved samples, it's better than a floppy disk. Are you wanting to control your S2000 via an old PC using scsi ?

Kumusta, I'd recommend buying a gotek emulator with a preloaded disk images and OS because I have so many enquiries from other users across the globe with issues where they purchase an emulator without the OS and disk images yet they don't work. I have made an enquiry with the seller I use to see if he offers shipping to the Philippines. Do look for a gotek emulator package with an included USB thumbdrive that's preloaded with everything you need to run your sampler. I'm Austin by the way

hi, thanks! is it an exact emulation of a floppy? means is the maximum you can save in one go the size of a floppy or can it be bigger?

The same disc images as original Akai disks however the capacity of the memory stick can be larger and the ability to store more disk images is possible

@@AW-Services hm, so when you have a 32 mb sampler full with samples and you save it, will it split it in one go to several disks or does it stop after 1 disk is full?

I'll be completely honest with you and transparent. When I was using all of my samplers in the 90s I knew alot but 30s years later I'm only using goteks and making my own samples the easy way. I need to refresh my brain on the programming and file aspects of it.

@@AW-Services Im using a gotek which uses flash floppy and the usb stick has all my stuff on from the seller which i bought many years back and i accidently formatted the operating system whhile i was formatting a scsi hard drive. I should have taken the usn stick out before tempting the hard drive...Do you have your operating system file i can use?
