Avri ' As a person who isn’t very good with talking to others, I have a hard time meeting eyes with people because I’m not very confident in myself. I think the same thing goes with Jinyoung, especially in this particular interview with the fact that he’s still improving his English and he’s obviously not too confident in his skills. And obviously when you’re in an unfamiliar environment or around unfamiliar people, you’re going to worry more about how you present yourself so that you won’t give off a bad impression. I don’t think he means to come off as rude at all, I’m sure he’s just shy with people he’s not familiar with.

Avri ' he mentioned a few time that he finds it hard to make friends and to get close to people. When he did MC for Inkigayo with Jisoo and Doyoung, he even said that now he has idols close friend and he debut for 3(+2) years at that time...

uhhhh that's the signature of them, they are not to be the calm people to be normal.

Jackson is basically saying “don’t compare us to other kpop groups.” Which I think a lot of these American interviewers need to stop doing. This interview is about GOT7 and GOT7’s accomplishments and journey, their story. Who cares about what other Kpop acts are doing/have done/will do. I am 100% American and even I feel uncomfortable when these interviewers mention other kpop groups, not only to Got7 but they’ve done it to many other groups like NCT127 and Monsta X, etc. Very wise words from Jackson, he isn’t envious of others success, he’s just worried about his own success and got7’s. Love this group.

What I also like is, that he takes his time while speaking english. Of course one is nervous when one can't remember a word, but instead of stumbling on that he keeps his calm and because of that he remembers the word the wants to say most of the time. If one is too nervous about it, the word will not come up at all.

I just like that Billboard gives them a chance to ACTUALLY sincerely talk about their music and not trying to make sure it's "fun" to watch. They put a lot of thoughts and are very serious when it comes to their music so I think this interview is just a reflection to this side of them which we don't get to see a lot :)

what jackson said in the last couple of mins really speaks - I mean at the end of the day it’s only you who you’re trying to “compete” with and really nothing outside of that matters - I’m really proud of got7 and how much they’ve grown, I can’t wait to see what the future holds in store for them 💚

Many comments that they're too calm. NO, they've just been given the opportunity to be themselves for once, and talk about their work. They seem a bit uncomfortable at first, because it is so rare. They're not used to it in the Kpop industry, but in US, and even more in Europe, the topics of music groups interviews is actually... music ! It's not about being a clown or a pretty doll. If you want that, go to the circus !! You think they are joyful loud goofballs all the time ? Wake up, it is a role they were trained to play by their company. In reality, they are early 20s hard working artists with almost no personal life. After five years, they are just starting to express themselves artistically. Bam says in reality he's just a chill guy, and YJ speaks about his dark sides. Jinyoung says they would be better if they'd worked less hard and took some rest sometimes. And Mark says how Jinyoung speaks for all of them in his song. Bravo and thank you to the interviewer for showing some real interest in them and allow us to understand them better. I'm going to listen to their songs again with what they said in mind.

uh while i do agree that they are uncomfortable with the new kind of questions, i believe they are just exhausted. the entire time, mark was the only one who made a joke. also, i think when they're being fun they genuinely are happy in the moment. of course they all have such difficult lives, but they're humans with fluctuating emotions. you should calm down, you sound really passive aggressive.

They have multiple sides to themselves like the majority of the world. They're actually naturally loud and goofy, that can't be faked otherwise it would be obvious. I do agree they aren't like that all the time and they do have a serious side. They've expressed wanting to mature more in order to talk about their music which is amazing too. Everything isn't just a 'company image' conspiracy being pushed.

If you truly think about it, OP isn't saying GOT7's happy side is a company image they made them to fake, it's saying even though it's them, but they are only allowed to show this side of them because that's how Korea entertainment industry works. I really agree with OP - thank you Billboard for finally letting the boys to JUST talk about music and music only without thinking how to be "entertaining" in an interview.

For people who said this is the calmest got7 - they are not just crackheads, they put a lot of thoughts and hard work to making music and this is almost the only platform where they don't need to "perform" but can simply talk about music. Gosh, I love this interview! I just love how the reporter really gives them the space to express themselves about their work, it’s SO refreshing!

I admire that jinyoung takes any opportunity given to him to speak in english I know a lot of people who may be really good in a language and understand it really well but because they're afraid of making mistakes fall back into their comfort zone and rely on translators which isn't bad at all everyone should do what they feel most comfortable doing but I admire jinyoung constantly seizing the chance to show off his english because that really is the only way you get better. I love his confidence and he's just a really good speaker in every language

When I thought I couldn't love a group more, I watch this interview and I did. These men right here are genuine, deep and so passionate with their music and their fans all over the world. You can feel their gratitude and love for their supporters. I couldn't be more prouder to be an ahgase. PS I love how Bambam makes this interview lively and light,he speaks so well. I feel as though Jackson is stating how all this is about them, their fans, and their album, not just the charts because he is probably the most experienced in how American media works. He knows how American media is quick to put people against each other so he making it known now that that is irrelevant.

A lot of people think that Got7 are like, this happy funny carefree group that just want to play around. In reality they're super hardworking and passionate individuals. It still blows me away how intelligent and mature JB, Jackson and Jinyoung are at times, rather than just being the entertainers that they usually are. At the end of the day they're adults with their own lives and their own interests, and it still really amazes me how much they love what they do. Makes me kind of sad at times because they're people with the kind of dreams that can change the world, but they can't realize that because they have to fit in the idol cookie cutter.

Why did I freak out when Jinyoung said "harded?!" Jackson is my bias. Period!!

Oh my god this interview is so quiet and relaxing. Jinyoung's English improved so much! Im grateful most of the members tried and spoke in English. Also, i appreciate the fact there were english and Korean subtitles!

got7 is amazing and feels like friends when they're being all energertic and fun, but got7 is also amazing and feels like friends when being calm and saying wise things. The best thing about them is we get to see all of their sides.
