this called me out because ive been very worried about my future. i didnt think i can go anywhere withh my average grades. ive never talked about this to my friends. maybe if i could think positive, i could be successful. one time i was talking to my friends about which classmates will become successful. she said i could be one of them, and it motivated me a lot.

He is one of those rare celebrities who can look back on his life after turning 70 and can actually say "I made it". Like, he worked so hard. There have been(and will be) times where didn't get to rest because he had so much going on his schedules. He didn't become famous in one night luckily, he carefully climbed up the ladder with his hardwork. He is that one idol that gives me the positivity, the inspiration to work hard. His story isn't magical. His story is so normal that it makes you want to chase your dream so you can have it as him. He is actually an IDOL to me.❤

This just makes it more real for me. I never completely understood the full impact of what all Jackson had to leave behind, to go into another country all alone & work in such a competitive environment. A huge Risk. He was so brave. He is so brave. I, personally, always take the safe route but he's taught me time and again to go after my passion & dreams. Thank God(more like his parents for raising & supporting him), for Jackson. For making me positive. He has encouraged me and many others. The least I can do is support him always.

I just wanted to point this out. He was given an opportunity, and he took it. To me that isn’t really a HUGE risk but it definitely is a risk. Theres a difference between being given an opportunity vs just leaving everything behind WITHOUT an OPPORTUNITY given and the latter is what a true HUGE risk is. Its because your chances are unknown as opposed to being given an opportunity aka(being scouted, getting flown out to Korea, etc) the company already has an eye on you. Not trying to discredit him but i’m just trying to point out the diff between people who are given the chance/opportunity and just people try things from scratch with no opportunities handed, no offers, no connections, no help, and no nothing. Jackson or anyone wouldn’t leave everything behind if there was no opportunity given, thats just dumb. Basically everything was aligned for him. He had the talent, and was given a chance. Lots of people has talent but wasn’t given a chance or opportunity which is sad. And there are people who are meh/okay/has potential but was given an opportunity and was scouted and def has potential and got in. For Jackson like I said everything went well and the stars aligned. He has Major talent PLUS he was given the OPPORTUNITY. So i’m not trying to take away anything from him and discredit him. Its just he was blessed with the opportunity vs people who try and try and has mad talent but no scouts get to see them which is sad. But yeah, this dudes solid all around the board.

I forgot to mention that it's befitting that Jackson won the American Teen Choice Award for the Next Big Thing on Aug.12, 2018, before going back to visit AIS on Aug.18. He is the only ethnic Chinese who has ever won that award. So it is no small accomplishment at all. I am so proud of him.

I really admire Jackson's ambition and hard-working personality. Sure, all kpop idols worked hard for what they wanted, but I really think Jackson's determination is the kind you only see in great business leaders, he has that side of his that knows he can't do everything alone so he makes sure he gets to know people and maintain meanigful connections. Beyond the fact that he's a handsome idol, Jackson is really a role model, I mean, with all and all, people do have concrete evidence of the great qualities he has, sports take a huge amount of discipline and passion and he worked hard enough to get to qualify for the Olympics, but then he also had this big dream of making it into music so he risked it all and made it work. Now that tells me a lot of him as a person, I'm deeply saddened by the fact that many people, especially in Korea, overlook this so easily, that was perhaps also the reason why he decided to go solo only in China and not Korea too. Jackson Wang deserves more recognition and I hope he continues improving his music so that he gets the success and recognition he deserves.

@@MiguelJuliann23 i bet that when people even suggest or alude to his chance of dropping out of got7 he would be offended, though I wouldn't cross it out completely, the time comes for idol groups where the group is not as important/prioritary in their lives, but that would come in many yrs and only when the group as a whole determine their time as business partners will end, but their friendship is an entirely different thing and I'm sure they all want the best for each other so time will only say

These 26 minutes reinforced my views on Jackson. 4 years ago when I fell in love with him (and GOT7), as usual he was making people roll with laughter in some variety show, even then I could tell that behind those crazy antics, was a determined and an extremely hardworking person. Time went by and I learnt what he had to give up in order to be where he is today, but after this documentary I believe that instead of giving up something, he gave the sport his very best and decided to challenge himself with something that he always had an embedded passion for. I have no doubt that had he chose to be a fencer, he would still be making headlines! Jackson was born to be in the limelight either way! But I for one, I'm glad that he chose the stage over the podium because it gave me the opportunity to get to know such an amazing man!

out of all things, i believe it's jackson's social skills that helps him largely to be where he is rn. Not saying he's not talented or hard worker, he's one of the hardest working people in the industry, but like one of his teachers mentioned he's always been really social he knows how to treat people well, he doesn't discriminate, people feel comfortable around him. If there's a trait i'd want from jackson it is his social and PR skill. Jackson has one of the most likable personalities i've come across, he's loved everywhere he goes and that speaks volumes about someone!

I am so thankful that Jackson took the risk. He left behind so much. Like he already had a pretty good future in front of him. He could be an Olympian and get the respect from his countrymen but he chose another path. No one knew if he would get the job. I'm glad that he was determined. I just hope he doesn't regret it. There's so much negativity in kpop industry so i hope you all will always shower him with lots of love.

I never commented on a KZread video ever but I just had to for this documentary; it is nicely filmed, informative, and felt personal, giving me that impact to work hard and make my dreams come true. I think a majority of GOT7 and Jackson fans know he has worked hard into becoming a fencer and an all-round entertainer, but to actually hear accounts of that labor being put into his future is astounding and makes me proud of him. He could have gone to Stanford and compete at the 2012 Olympics but as he said himself and has stated multiple times, follow your dreams, do what you really want to do, and that is exactly what he did. More importantly, you can tell from variety shows and accounts that he is charismatic, jocular, and overall a kind person. He always pays homages to his hometown at concerts and such, and from these interviews and interactions with his teachers, it pretty much established that all of the things we hear about and see from Jackson is true. Honestly, I’m not really a fan of his solo work but I am definitely inspired by the hard work he puts into it (and just working hard in general). Great job on this documentary, I absolutely enjoyed it. Just as Jackson made his dreams come true as an entertainer and artist, I hope the same for you as well becoming a filmmaker! I am looking forward to your future works. :-)

This was so refreshing to watch. It's so nice to see his personality that has helped him become so popular has been with him ever since he was young. Also the same passion. He truly is the same Jackson, just stronger and more passionate. You could see the amount of pride his teachers had for him. Although he couldn't graduate due to moving to Korea, it is nice to see you are still so proud of him. He definitely is an asset to the school and represents this well. You truly have helped to shape him into becoming the gentlemen he is today, alongside his parents. Thanks to his school, Jackson was discovered as an artist. It must have been difficult for him to decide between his passion for his sport or his passion for music, especially when both parents are Olympians. He could have easily carried on with his fencing, taking part in the 2012 olympics, graduating high school, studying at Stanford University. But he didn't, he decided what he was more passionate about and went for it without caring for any risks. Fencing was the safe route, K-pop wasn't. But he made it nonetheless and he is an inspiration for so many. If for some reason, he didn't make it, all his fans know that he would find another way to achieve his dreams. He has shown that sometimes we should take risks to follow our dreams. He still is the fencing king, he still is an amazing pro athlete, that won't change, but he also created for himself an identity in an unknown place. His efforts, mindset and passion will definitely help him reach more places and become even more successful.

I really love everytime, how some of these people keep on doubting him and his dreams at first. I really understand because it's too risky indeed like changing path so quick, yet Jackson made it, and thanks to that determination I met him through Got7. I can't any be more happy🤧 . Thank you Jackson for letting us Jackys and Ahgase get on this journey of yours!💚😍 *PROUD IS UNDERSTATEMENT*

I'm so happy for him and he was so lucky to have teachers and a school like that... I wish I had a school like that too.. litteraly my high school ruined all my dreams and chances to have a bright future, I'm literally stuck at the rock bottom now... I regret everything about my high school years, I had one friend (and even that wasn't from my school) Teachers make the difference between students, I had literally 3 teachers who belived in me and pushed me from behind (my geography, enghish and desing teacher) In the 10th grade my depression was geting really bad and I was doing self harm, let me tell you that NO ONE CARED other kids bullyed me for that and teachers practically ignored that , in the last year my math teacher failed me and other 14 classmates just because he didn't want us to get in the final exam. But let me tell you that..ok I was bad in math but I was having pretty good grades in other subjects, I even got in a national design competion in third place, but they telled me that I will be nothing in my future and my dreams will not com true if I don't learn maths, I WASN'T EVEN A MATH RELATED SCHOOL . Now I really don't know what to do with my life, I really want to give up but I can't I'm just 20 I have my parents, my puppy and kpop who keeps me alive. I regret every decision I made in my life until now... For those who are in high school/middle school DON'T LET PEOPLE ACTIONS AND WORDS TO AFFECT YOU, DO WHAT YOU WANT AND WHAT IS POSSIBE TO FULFILL YOUR DREAMS, DON'T BE LIKE ME. I'm sorry for this but I needed to say it.

Thank you so much, Rachel and team💓And thank you to HK AIS teachers, principal, dean, the committee, and Henry! Jackson Wang is a blessing for young people, especially, to this world. I am a teacher my self, and I know what it feels when your student MADE IT, achieved their goals, living their life happily with what they're doing, and still grounded and stay true to their self.. I can't describe it with words..just PROUD, so proud.. Love Jackson Wang so much, can't stop crying happily while watching this short movie about him..again, thank you💓

First of all, I like to thank Rachel for making this excellent documentary and uploading it. This helps to inspire more people to pursue their dreams. I am so impressed with the spirit of AIS, providing a "warm and supportive environment to nurture" the students as spoken by Mr. Wing, the principal. Jackson said the school was like a big family to grow up in and he could have fun. How lucky for Jackson and other students attending AIS! Jackson not forgetting his roots is so heart-warming, even he is an international celebrity now. I think Jackson was so lucky to have Mr. Gartz as his former counselor, who cared about his education and then encouraged him to pursue his dreams. I am sure that meant a lot to Jackson. Jackson deserves all the success he has because he works incredibly hard as described by Mr. Hardisty, the former Dean of the school. I am not associated with AIS in any way, but I am glad to know that there is such a school in Hong Kong providing such wonderful education for students to be what they want. Please tell Jackson to take of his health also.👏🇭🇰👍😁❤️

I feel like words could never describe how amazing Jackson is, but whenever I think of him and what he’s achieved the one thing that always comes to mind is superhero. Jackson is what I would call a modern day hero for our generation and it doesn’t have to be just for this generation but every generation. The determination, drive and passion that he has to get what he wants shows that no matter what you want in life if you want it bad enough you can always get it and even if you don’t get it this time you can get it next time you just need to have that passion and that want to want it. I feel so honored to have found him and to be a part of his journey to fulfill his dreams. What Jackson is to me is he’s a hero, a role model, a mentor and a really unique/special person that I look up to. Wherever life takes you Jackson Ill always be by your side to cheer you on no matter what 💜💜💜💜💜 continue fulfilling your dreams but just please remember to get more sleep besides on the plane because sleep is very important too In fulfilling your dreams. Love you 💗

All this did was make me love him even more. He has worked so hard all these years. He took such a huge risk. But clearly, that risk paid off. He has taught me so much in just these 2 years I've been supporting him. He makes me want to work hard on my own dreams and take small risks myself since I always play it safe. He has helped so many of us across the world. I will always support him.
