    I assume the pee bike is cheaper and less maintenance than a porta potty or something... And as herb is a classy man, peeing in an old oil bottle is of course beneath him.

    It has 4 ashtrays, a cigarette lighter, and a 20 page manual with 8 pages dedicated to flying the plane and the rest talking about smoking and the ashtrays.

    Every time I see the Avco Lycoming on the valve covers in my head I hear "Avco Lycoming huh, that's a funny way to spell Briggs and Stratton" as in "P-E-T-R-O-L. huh, that's a funny way to spell water".

    Inrpteresting! I didn’t know you were into aircraft rebuilds. Bet that rebuild on the mill set you back at least $40K! OUCH! Those undrilled bolts are probably case hardened where so many thousands they are hardened while the deeper steel remains untreated. They drill easy once you pass the hardened area.

    I bought that truck 13 years ago for 4 grand with 80k miles it just keeps running so I just keep driving it. 2001 F150.

    For degreasing....my dad used to be a crew chief in the Air Force, and he said some of the best cleaners they had for pretty much everything was cold coffee. I used to be "Wait you used to use cold coffee to clean the hyrdaulics ?" He'd take a sip from his mug and go "Yep" And I was like "And you drink how much of that stuff a day?" My only answer was a slurp of him drinking his coffee

    He probably borrowed the pliers from the USAF and they can't find him 😄 Total red tape inspection is required but not welcome by many. Inspection or not airplanes still fall out of the sky for many reasons. The investigators of a downed smashed up airplane tend to report it as pilot error even when it's not cause it's cheaper and easier that way.

    They are very similar, infact some kit planes use VW engines! Some use half VW engines too.

    Maybe one of you airplane buffs can clarify this but I always wondered why not have four or five bladed props...won't they push more air?

    More blades = more drag. 2 blades is the most efficient number if they can be long enough to use all of the available engine power. 3 and 4 bladed props are usually seen on higher powered engines where making the most efficient use of the power would require blades that are too long for a 2 bladed design. You don't want the props too close to the ground and you don't want the tips going supersonic.

    That's right!, there is some evidence that a counter-balanced single bladed prop would be even more efficient but they are dumb in practice due to uneven thrust.

    @@Clickmaster5k If he is not an A&P he can do the work if he gets an A&P to sign off on it. Most A&P's won't because their *_ASS_* is on the line if something is not done correctly and the airplane has a mishap!!!

    @@onmyworkbench7000 Ya I'm curious about that process of getting an A&P to sign off. Do they want to come inspect at various points to make sure it was done right, Is he video documenting and that's getting reviewed? Can you do all the work then just get some sort of return to airworthiness inspection later or does an A&P really have to just redo all the work to get the plane flying?

    @@Clickmaster5k I can't answer that, it would be up to the A&P as to how the A&P wants to handle it, I would think that a responsible A&P would want to inspect all of the work at the various points to confirm that it was done correctly. The A&P need to remember that he's responsible for whatever he signs off on as if he did the work himself!!!
