    I haven't felt the need to upgrade after I bought a BR Sun V2 on your recommendation almost a year ago -it's just lovely- but somehow I keep watching these videos. It's really enjoyable to hear you talk about these little instruments, especially the ones you like yourself like this one. Please keep doing what you're doing!

    I think that this particular ukulele is my favorite of all the ones you have featured. It looks great... but the sound is so shockingly rich. THAT is a keeper!

    What a beautiful instrument! The first thing I thought when I saw it was that it looks like a vintage uke, something Arthur Godfrey might have been playing back in the day. It sounds wonderful, and I really like that there is no name or label on the headstock. I don't know why I like that so much, but it is kind of refreshing to just seen a beautiful clean headstock! The price is amazing, too! Bravo on a nice catch!

    Hello Baz good morning. I copied a part from the written review. Is it about the Martin that sounds thinner or the Collings?? In fact playing this for a while has made be revisit my thoughts on the Martin and now feel it sounds a lot thinner than I would like. And bear in mind, in this spec, this is cheaper than both of those two ukuleles...

  • @GotAUkulele

    @GotAUkulele

    I know several people in the US who have his instruments. I think you just need to be mindful of shipping costs (which will be high) and that certain woods will be restricted due to CITES, but I don't see why not.

    GotAUkulele that's a good idea . I have a friend who lives in the UK and comes to the US a few times a year, he plays in our ukulele meetup group, I could ask him! Or maybe I'll just have to take trip across the pond myself! Thanks for this review!

    If you can get up to Hebden Bridge to visit him, that makes the commissioning process even more fun. You get to see the actual pieces of wood he has on his shelf in the workshop to choose from. I have a fully commissioned one from him for which I did just that. This one I bought 'off the peg' though, but I did so knowing how good his ukuleles are (I've played dozens!)

    @@GotAUkulele Choosing the exact piece of wood is actually the thing I most like the sound of. I'll definitely be going, but it will be next year sometime now. In the meantime the Timms is arriving tomorrow and as it's a combined Christmas present from different family members I can't actually have a play with it yet. It's being delivered to mine though, so I may have to "test it" very briefly. You know - just to make sure it's ok :-D

    A little late to the party, but catching up with your stellar reviews. Nothing beats a hand made anything when it’s built by unparalleled talent like Rob. Obviously, his heart and hands are etched into his work. Machines can’t duplicate that . . . Just sayin’

  • @GotAUkulele

    @GotAUkulele

    ha ha - nooooo.. The vast majority are loaned to me by the brands and then get sent back or given to charity. If I kept them all, two things would happen. a) My house would be uninhabitable b) My wife and family would leave me.. On occasion though I do buy instruments and this one I am proud to say is mine. I bought this one. Lots of people assume i have 200 ukuleles at home. I have about 20 that I actually own myself. Others here are only here temporarily! The important point here is - I don't review for free gifts.
