I heard from someone who worked on set in season two that Blake was a total Diva on set, I’m sure she’s grown out of that but that is definitely one of the reasons they didn’t get along

Too bad it seems like none of the actors enjoyed working on GG. That environment sounds really toxic.

I'm not saying they going into fights but they weren't exactly best friends and that was well known . Clearly you haven't seen every interview. And some of the guest stars spoke out about how toxic the work environment was that they didn't even finish all the episodes they were supposed to. Do your research.

They probably liked working with each other but didn’t like how their characters were portrayed. If that was the case I wouldn’t blame them. It seems like some of them were friends with each other but that most of them weren’t friends. I’ve seen pictures of them together off set but also heard that most of them weren’t friends. And I mean there’s nothing wrong with not being friends with your costars not all co stars click that way.

ya’ll treat taylor momsen like a childish brat just because one thing they said of her, but she was just 16, she was forced to do things she didn’t want to, and her parents literally used her as a money machine. she just wanted to do her music and be happy. And everyone said that it was an unhealthy environment, maybe she was the only one brave enough to do something about it.

Please, the unhealthy environment they are taking about was making everyone go out and have some chemistry in the show and also some of the fueds, Taylor was not speaking out about that but instead making things difficult, not remembering her lines even though it is her job, if she did it to get them to push Jenny as more of a crazy seething teenager then I understand why because if she kept playing Jenny as the way she was in the beginning people would feel weird watching Taylor perform her music, but if she just did it to cause trouble then wow she needs to work on herself.

I would be so annoyed too bc she and her band work so much on their music and people only seem to care about gossip girl. A lot of people hate taylor just because of the character she played. And u have to remember that she was 16 years old and she was trying to rebel against something, probably her parents because she has songs about how she felt during that time. I am 16, it is not an age thing it’s a personality issue, many people are 16 and don’t act that way, but people with that personality do act that way, it is a personality issue something you work on. If she was having issues with her parents then I feel for her, people in the acting business tend to have the worst parents, hopefully her case was better, but she was hurting people that had done nothing to her, her fellow actors did not deserve to have her forget her lines over issues with her parents.

If the child you are talking about is Taylor then she was a brat, everyone admits to this. Taylor’s actions are her own, everyone knows if they act that way there will be backlash many celebrities have gotten backlash from acting the way she did so you can’t tell me she didn’t know.

Half of this is not even true. Blake and leighton were casual friends, they didn't hate each other. You don't have to be "best friends" with everyone you work with. Also chace and penn talked about the show in an interview and they seemed pretty happy about it. Even ed talks about gossip girl on his instagram a lot. Y'all don't really know what happened between them so lets just stop assuming and hate them when we don't even know a bit of the truth.

I don’t trust a video that can’t even pronounce the main characters name right. Also, they don’t dislike each other like you claim. Blake still tags her in things. They just have different personalities and are in two different places in their life.

I guess Gossip Girl was a but a stepping stone for them. Let's just be thankful that the show happened at all.

Despite all the “toxic” behind the scene situations, I just think all of them want to move on from gossip girl. Don’t blame them, they all became adults. Loved the show, but man it was an intense show.

If we are being honest, it may not have been right for the producers/directors to encourage them to mingle and hook up with eachother during filming but it 100% worked. The main reason people love the show is because the intimate scenes feel, well...really intimate! ahah

no no, its not that they didnt get along, its just the werent BEST friends. its not like they were fighting or disliked each other, they were quite friendly and some of them are quite the pair of friends. its just they werent like complete besties, like leighton and blake for example. dude, ed and chance even lived together and ed and leighton are friends and two pairs of cast members even dated

When Gossip Girl was originally airing, I was there age. I think that's part of what attracted me to the show. I'm sure this time around will be even more scandalous but now I'm older and I dont feel like watching teenagers getting into scandals and situations my old ass hasn't even been in. Itll make me feel ancient and pathetic!

I actually miss all the CW shows, although Netflix is trying to do better with Outer Banks and Wednesday(they finally figured out they need a cast that are authentic and has chemistry to make it a hit). With the original cast of GG, I think though they played out their characters, 6 seasons was a long time, and it’s time for them to all move on and take on new roles(they first started at 19-20 , they have a different perspective now as older adults).

"Only a truly good girl can a play bad girl" I hope Leighton can make a come back :) Also, I am just so aghast how people idolize Serena... that character is just so wrong...

Just to clarify: Most people consider Blair to be the antagonist and Serena as the protagonist but when you look closely they are ALL horrible but Serena is worse in my opinion because EVERYONE gives her a pass for every single horrible thing she does/did. So yeah... Blair might be horrible but atleast she owns up to it and doesn't attempt to justify it not like Serena who ALWAYS does what she does and still come out like she did nothing wrong.

The entire gossip girl fandom has a cult like obsession with Blair and will defend her being an awful person like they’re life depends on it yet when Serena makes mistakes but still has a good heart (unlike Blair) you guys act like she’s a monster

I’m not far into the show, but I’d never heard about a feud between Blake Lively and Leighton Meester. From what I heard, they were friendly to each other, just not friends. Blake seems very social, and Leighton seems a little reserved. They were just different. Afaik they never feuded, they just weren’t really friends.

So what the actor of nate was saying was that they (the actors not characters) were all encouraged to hook up with each other and that they all did by the end? Yikes!

Thanks to penn badgley’s podcast, we got to see many cast members reunite. Though I can’t say I’m surprised penn never had Blake lively on the podcast, must’ve felt awkward contacting his ex.

I just have to share. When I was young, I was busy having and raising kids. I never had time for tv. Now that my kids are just about grown, shows like this are my guilty pleasure. After watching both Gossip Girl and the OC, I found out that Leighton married Adam Brody and I was so happy! LOL

In my opinion the cast is correct if there is a reboot make them play a lot older people. It was a great melodrama for their time you know filming and the two crazy elections and a plague later means they need to test their acting chops in something more realistic in another place and another time. Doesn't matter if they hate each, they are all pretty good actors who got old before my eyes when I binged on this series. No one even cares about the actual players of the adults in the room. What about Rufus and Lilly? They are good actors, too.

What about the reboot, could anyone tell what's going on! Also, the series was on netflix. But now I couldn't find it.

The reboot is a sequel, it will be set in 2020. The old cast won’t come back. It’s removed from Netflix because it’s now on HBO Max
