Gorgeous Metallic Swipe With A Surprise! | Acrylic Pouring
Ойын-сауық
These acrylic metallics did NOT disappoint! I am in love with how this acrylic pour turned out, with some really amazing cells and lacing. The swiped color blend gives off a very aqua type of feel, and I'm so happy with it!
I did make a few little mistakes along the way, but that's the best part of learning! This piece gave off such a nice shimmer in the end as well! What do you think of this piece, I'd love to hear your comments below!

Thank you so much! I just love metallics! 🤍
Woa!! This is gorgeous! I always find it hard to keep the paint while dumping a lot of paint on the same time. So thank you for answering my questions! This is really helpful

Thanks so much, Joanne! I hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching. 🙂
Thanks for sharing. I had the same experience last week. The painting was so good while it was wet but a disaster when it dried 😢. I will give it another try soon. Thanks for sharing 😊

Thanks for watching Kati, I appreciate it! 🙂 Yes I was frustrated but I think I may need to adjust my ratios for the base. This is only the 2nd or 3rd painting that has cracked in about 2 years. What is your favorite technique to pour with?
Gorgeous metallic swipe. Well done. So patiently u do it. How nice to see 😊

Aw that hurts when it dries badly. We’ve all been there of course, multiple times! Beautiful colors though.

Thank you! I’m thinking of embellishing some of the cracks with gold leaf so we’ll see how it turns out.
Aww, that's really too bad. It was beautiful when it was wet. I love that artist loft turquoise!! When I have too much paint, I usually have to make a sacrifice somewhere, it's not fun but still better that a cracked painting. Have you ever tried Gac 800? It helps with cracking and you need very little of it. Looking forward to seeing these colours again!!

Thanks Joey, I appreciate it! I really liked these colors, and although it cracked once I varnished it, it turned out fairly nice. I might even try to embellish the cracks with some gold leaf to see how it turns out. I haven’t tried the GAC Yet, but may have to give it a try sometime. Thanks for watching!
Absolutly stunning. The colors combination is wonderful. can u write how did you mix the paints? maybe adding some GAC 800 will help? worth a try👋👋👋👋👋👋

Thank you so much, I appreciate it! I’ve begun to track much better how my paints are mixed since then 😅 I also have GAC 800 on my list of supplies to buy. How much do you put in each of your colors? 🙂
Thank you for explaining what you do it's very helpful. I have a question on your base paint what do you mix it with and how much

Thanks Annie I appreciate the feedback! My base color is oxide black- 55ml mixed with floetrol- 100ml and artist loft pouring medium- 125ml. I may need to increase how much paint I’m using for the base. Thanks for watching!
Do you feel it cracked due to too much paint or was your consistency too thick? I absolutely love your swipes! Such a bummer. Do you think a little GAC800 would have helped?

Thanks for watching Katie and great comments. After looking at it once it was mostly dry and seeing video back, I think it was the base coat that caused some trouble with the cracking. I haven’t tried GAC800 yet, but after this one it’s become a much bigger consideration. I think the paint to medium ratio wasn’t where it needed to be to keep the binders holding together too.
Too bad about the cracks on this 😢 I really like the colors together. Do you know what made it crack?

Thanks August, and I think it could have been a couple of things. There was an aweful lot of paint on the canvas in the nd and it just might have stretched as it started to dry. Or, I really need to look at my recipe for my oxide black base color. I’ll try to embellish it I think to salvage it, but I learned a lot with this one! Thanks for watching.
Hi I love this! What’s your PM? Seems like floetrol plus some other PM like Liquitex?

Thanks Priya! I’m sure on this pour I was using titanium white mixed with penetrol and also with floetrol and artist loft medium. Thanks so much for watching!! 🤍
Sorry about the dry result, way too much paint!! When you lay your colors down, try just narrow lines or if you have a long canvas like that, drizzle the color’s thinly all along the path of your swipe and they will pick up as you swipe across them , if that makes sense

It does thank you! And yes it was a bit of a learning opportunity too. I had had a new ratio of medium in my black base coat. I’ll try to embellish it with some gold leaf to perk it up too. It actually doesn’t look terrible with a thin coat of varnish on it either!
That was looking real good until it dried. If you get cracks you can just tell people it's 3D art ;-) Someone will believe it. Shame it went wrong for you. Luckily that doesn't happen much.
