All I can say is WOW! That was so satisfying to watch. Learning about radar and laser fabrication install strategies is almost therapeutic to my curiosity. I'd love to see more state of the art install videos and hope you show them. The logistical aspect for installed systems is just fascinating.

I luv the Porsche install with that rear magnetic number plate hiding the laser jammers. Any chance on getting some info on how that laser jammer jig was made ? That's a great idea to keep the laser jammers straight inline. And that laser cutter to make the plastic surroundings that's also awesome. Excellent workshop with all the right tools to do a fantastic job wish I was living over there rather than in this boring Sydney Australia where everything is illegal this place sux guys, anyway Greetings from boring crappy Sydney Australia.

Ditto, that license plate frame is amazing. Laser jammers are legal in almost all 50 states, but cops get very upset if they catch you with them.

Apparently they've already started doing that. If you want ALP head holders for a 991.2 Turbo S, for example, like in the video, you can now order those parts from them. I've seen photos of assembly lines they have going for parts you can order, haha.

I just ordered my alp system and I would love to cover them with that IR transmissible plastic. It would be nice to see real world testing on how much it affects jamming capabilities

For someone OCD, like myself, those are some BEAUTIFUL installs and I love all the OEM-ness and details. I would love to get the ALP brackets/housings they've designed for the Model 3. Would that be possible for a DIY install?

There are no updates yet for the R7. Even the beta testers haven't received theirs yet. When there's new info to share, I'll definitely let you know.

Saving that sales tax in Portland, you sly dog! Had them do an emergency install, they did OK, but it was admittedly a rush job on a Saturday evening.

Hi Vortex, I live in Europe can you please tell me how they got the wires from the front to inside the car. Did they drill through the rubber grommet? I have a BMW 5 series.

Those rear sensors on the 911 look fantastic. Although, being so far recessed, would that affect the off-axis hits from the rear?

Was all pumped up thinking "Northwest" would be close to my location but after further investigation, Musicar is so well known that they do not have to list a city or state or functional map to locate haha I resorted to google searching the area code and saw Oregon as the state but gave up because of the effort needed versus them just listing a city/State.

Prop. have to go in to a real shop or "Car Toys" and show em what you want.. pics, videos whoever answers phone is prob. a moron. I'd buy my own electronics ALP is only sold on there website.. they would have to order it. Escort shifters suck dont waste your time w em.. Texas, Houston is bad for laser I've seen em shoot from the rear on on ramps even which isnt legal in Houston. I'm in west Texas now lived in Dallas, Austin, Portland, OR Fl. as well I've seen it all

How much does something like that cost? Just for install not parts? Can you give a ball park so I know what to expect and be ready for it

I asked them and they said they that people can call in for quotes since it varies depending on what car you drive, how hard it is to work on, what equipment you want to purchase, and how much custom work you want done. I asked about the existing cars we looked at today and they said that customers often don't want to let everyone know how much they spent on an install so for privacy reasons, they don't share that publicly. Nevertheless, anyone can call in and they're happy to provide a quote for an install on whatever you have in mind. :)

So if you are an avid car washer, utilizing a power washer, high powered air driers, etc., is there risk of damaging this new equipment and or its really nice custom housings?

If the Uniden R3 is your highest rated radar detector- why isn't anyone running it, you included?

One more thing... I bought the R3 specifically because of the sky high rating right here on the Vortex Radar site. It strikes me as odd that Vortex Radar didn't install one of these "Gorgeous Custom Installations" in his personal car.

Can someone translate this ?

If i need this installed i would probably need to ship my car out to that shop right? Any idea how this would work ? Or could someone come out to me... in Florida?

For the Tesla... Wonder if it would be possible to integrate the ALP heads in the headlight? Either open the headlight up and mount them inside, or cut up the lens of the headlight and have them protrude slightly from the headlight. That way the heads are higher up. Obviously would be more difficult, expensive, and cutting the headlight lens would be none reversible, but that could be an option?

I see a whole bunch of IPT there, particularly on the front and rear of the 991..... The workmanship is beautiful, but they forgot the old adage........Stealth the car, not the install!! Best install there was the BMW, not the others. Can't wait to see these tested.

Yep, it's an old adage I've been using 25 plus years. All these Perspex guys and hide this and conceal that have it all wrong. Recessed heads do .not.work. These guys are paying premium money for totally untested installs. The work is beautiful for sure, but it's all touchy feely. The whole basis of ldar protection requires a straight and level head out in front of any reflective surface. The only install I saw that on was the BMW. The rest are IPT.
