Just shows what a great manager Alex Ferguson was.
As a Rangers and Scotland fan I was so proud of that Dons team that night. Unfortunately things have soured somewhat since then. I sometimes wonder what both teams attitude would be towards one another nowadays if Neil Simpson had pulled back on his tackle on Ian Durrant all those years ago thereby saving his club and international career and preventing all the hatred between both sets of fans. I don't don't recall any such problem before that incident. In fact it was a pleasure visiting the granite city back then then. In fact we often stayed overnight on match days and always had some great nights mixing with the locals. Nowadays you're taking you life in your hands to stay overnight. A real shame!

Aberdeen 83 side with sir Alex Ferguson was great side who knows what they would of achieved had fergie stayed there and money invested into Aberdeen it's a shame things declined.
