    Receipe: Hit the prawns with lime. Hit the onions with lime. Hit the fish sauce with lime. Hit the bread with lime Hit the tomatoes with lime Hit the slaw with lime Hit with the prawns again with lime. Garnish with couple more limes. And finally, a grating of lime.

    Yes, to protect the delicate flavour of the shrimp(prawns) he should have used just one and then a 7 whole limes with skin to enhance the flavour of the solitary shrimp.

    It's always funny to me when Gordon cooks Southern food. It's never anywhere close to what it should actually be but it still look good. This is in no way a po boy but I'd crush it.

    Most southern cooking especially were made for less fortunate people. Po boy especially .. he’s a Michelin star chef from the UK worth a quarter billion dollars… i wouldnt expect him to understand the essence of southern US cooking ( not to say his sandwich isn’t good)

    I grew up in a strictly no-mayo household, but as an adult I learned how to use it proportionally (not goopy), like a touch with some mac or potato salad, a light swipe on a sandwich (with mustard too), and even cooking with it (it works well in meatballs).

    We do that here off the coast of Oregon too! I think living by the coast is a blessing regardless of whether it's Florida, Oregon, Maine, etc. Love seafood! I hope wherever you ended up you can still get good seafood!

    @@hoihoipoipoi The Florida Keys are beautiful but remote and increasingly expensive to live there. During the summer the temperatures can feel like over a 110°F with high humidity and there is very little protection against hurricanes.

    start off with a key lime followed by a key lime. finally before serving we add the key lime. serve with key lime.

    Most people have no idea that a ripe lime is NOT that deep green color you get at the superstore. They get yellow-ish as they ripen, and those brown keys are like a brown banana-- just past ripe with a completely different taste than you get from from a store key thats green and feels like a golf ball and is so tart and sour it makes your eyes water.

    Dammit Gordon. Just get to it. Busting his chops a bit--love his stuff but he loves the process. (One thing I have learned from him is lightly season throughout).
