Best timelapse in the end!

Good video but your video test footage made it less valuable. Why the diagonal shots when you loose most of the sky? It made it harder to compare them. The stabilization tests are among the best on KZread, so thank you for those.

Could you do a specific Timelapse feature comparison video? With side by side testing low light, battery life, etc. I'm specifically curious about 4k.

I bought this camera on 2016 boxing day which was attracted by a description on best buy website "night vision". However there is no night vision option on this camera. I purchased a memory card to use it on Hero 5 Black, according to the description given on the gopro website. Unfortunately card stop working after 17 minites continuous shooting. I noticed following defects on Hero 5 back which are given below 1. Lens portion of camera is heating up after 15 minits continuous shooting. 2.There is no good video quality for 4k video (my canon 6D have better quality on 1920*1080 video shooting than Gopro) 3. Misleading information on remaining battery charge information. 4. camera stop working after exactly 17 minits shooting..

+Paul Fisher yes that's possible but you'll need the original (!) GoPro USB-C to 3.5mm Adapter to get any microphone working.

Well, thought of saving money and buy hero 4, but after watching your video, I decided to invest more abit to get hero 5.

In the Future the Hero 4 Silver will become a Classic.

I thought the hero5 was amazing and great but now there are so many videos say older gopros are better then the hero5 black and session.

do you think it's worth upgrading from the hero 4 silver to the 5 black? I use my gopro for my backpacking trips and it seem like the image stabiliser in the 5 will help, also without needing the waterproof housing on the 5, you can prob hear the video nice and clear vs with the 4 right? I'm also concerned about the internal battery, does it die as fast as the hero 4 interchangeable batterys?

Eds the Coverer Buy the Hero 5 Black the Screen is better and the voice command is worth it.The quality of the photo and video is slightly better and the battery life is also slightly better.Let alone its already waterproof.I have both and i was happy with the Hero 5 black.Its my go to camera from now on.

This depends on the resolution you are filming with. I would say for the Hero 4 on 2,7K it's something from 1,5-2 hours and for the 5er its a little less when filming in 4K

...the gyro orientation (auto orientation) only works if you're not recording, right? this is the issue i got from my hero 4 black...once i press the record button and tip the cam upside down, it stays upside down...

+GanskeNow RAW ist im Zeitraffermodus bisher leider nicht verfügbar, sondern nur in dem Foto-Modus. Das steht auch direkt ganz oben auf meine 10 Dinge, die ich nicht so toll finde Liste, aber du hast recht, ich habe tatsächlich vergessen in dem Video darauf einzugehen :O

This isn't a good comparison. Hero5 outshines the Hero4 Silver. I'd recommended using the Hero4 Black vs Hero5. Also to note when you're allowing us to view the shots, make sure to place the comparison shots in their perspective place. I noticed that you had the Hero5 on the left but you put the footage on the left when showing us the comparison shots.

Welche von den beiden Kameras würdest du denn weiter empfehlen? Mir geht`s dabei ja eigentlich ehr um die Videoqualität, aber auch etwas um die allgemeine Bedienung. Bei der 4er ist ansich kein Display dran oder? Ich besitze im Moment die Actionpro x7 möchte aber eine Kamera mit besserer Auflösung haben.
