On a night in January 2023, I setup the DJI Action 3 and the GoPro Hero 11 action cameras in the exact same location with all of the same settings and set both cameras going all night capturing a night lapse. I then published both night lapses in separate videos, along with two star trails for each, so that you can see how these cameras compare to each other for night lapses and which you like best. hello, would it be possible to have the settings you used to make the nightlapse. I just bought the gopro 11 mini but I can't get a nice time lapse video of the stars. can you help me ?
Second one looks the best. Obviously personal preference though, I'm going to have a go at this but it's winter in UK cloudy and miserable lol

Ah yes, those UK winters do not feature many clear nights. I grew up in climate similar to that in the United States and we didn’t see the sun for months sometimes during the winter months.

Just processed my first couple nights of star trail recordings and I am seeing what I am guessing to be satellites which is cool. Have you looked at any satellite log information to identify satellites you get? I see them in this video... of course they could be airplanes also.

That’s great. Yes, I believe some of the satellites I have captured before are some of the SpaceX Starlink satellites. I do also tend to see quite a few airplanes as well. I have not looked at satellite log info to identify them but that sounds like it could be fun to do.
Help! I tried an overnight Timelapse last night. I used nightlapse and nightlapse photo mode on my GoPro 11. (I've done this before with (maybe) my GoPro 9. I attached an external USB power supply with a usb cable to attache it to the GoPro. The GoPro ran out of power and shut down in about 3 hour and did not use the eternal USB Power source. Any hint in what I did wrong and how to prevent it from happening the next time I try? Thanks in advance1

No, this night lapse and two star trails were done using a few apps in post processing. However, that being said, Star Trails can be done within the GoPro Hero 11 and it does an excellent job with this in camera. If you own any GoPro older than an 11, the star trails will need to be done using a few apps. I outline that process in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aoaemaluqbfcmto.html
Been doing these all week. Not keen on the star trails tbh. Getting inconsistent results with external batteries. And scheduled capture. How you doing yours? Internal or external battery? Thx

I used an external battery pack from Anker and I don’t use schedule capture. I start it going after sunset and stop it around sunrise most times.

Yes, it does take some time and practice and also a cooperative sky which isn’t always easy depending on location.
