What a save at 8:00-he nearly lost it,but it can happen when you're in maximum attack mode. That car is just mental.

Saw the car in person take off. It was an absolute beast caged in body work. It leaped up whenever Tajima shifted. Serious skill to control that much raw power on such a tight road. I road the road on a Ducati Multistrada, things can get dicey pretty quick up there, fun though.

Crazy driving towards the end there given the vast stretches with no guard rail. Among many, the correction (with only the tiniest hint of stepping off the throttle) at around 8:01 was particularly impressive.

Even if it looks slow on the camera, you have to remember that the altitude has an effect on the motor. While it may be rated at 900+ hp, it is not making 900hp all the way up the mountain. When Formula One had turbo charged engines at Mexico City in 1988, the turbo charged engines were losing about 10-12% of their power, compared to normally aspirated engines with 23-25%. Mexico City sits at 7,350 feet above sea level, The Pikes Peak Hill climb starts at 9,390 feet.

Amazing drive! Talk about a demonstration of knowing the road (and shoulders!). 4:34 proves you can be fast, as long as you can spot the straight lines through the curves. That has to be at LEAST 6' off the road surface 7:33 7:56 8:42 9:27 9:51 - All of these points show how much knowledge of the road he has. It's like he's racing with a pure vision of the road in his head, cause you sure as hell can't see what is coming up next!

The speed limit is 25 mph on average and as low as 10 mph. The Pike's Peak Highway is 19.5 miles long but I think the actual race is only 12.42 miles. So roughly 35-40 minutes.
