Cheers Captain. I will do a short video of preparing the gooseberries and putting them in the beer when the time comes. As for now the fermenter is wrapped up as I want it to ferment as warm as possible with that Philly Yeast.

Going to be a nice one , I have never used the rice hall but with the wheat it’s a good idea . Spilling things on the floor is a benefit , it’s a good way to clean the floor I have done it to many times . Cheers Dave will be watching for the finished product .

Fun video. Sounds like it's gonna be a wonderful beer. I don't recall having tried gooseberries before. Interesting note: they were banned in the US between 1911 & 1966 because they hosted a plant disease that infected pine trees. Looking forward to part 2. Cheers! 🍺🍻

Cheers skid. Yes I read that too and in some ways they have fallen out of fashion here in the UK. When I was a kid in the sixties the market stalls would be piled up with gooseberries but you hardly see them now. We used to have gooseberry pie and crumble a lot in the past. I bought mine online from a fruit farm and they are top quality but also top dollar. If this goes wrong it will be an expensive mistake😂

How come you ended up using two packs? To ferment it out? I only have one pack but was going to add something else if it needed to get down further. Beer should be grand though, love gooseberries.

The OG was 1.065 and I collected 22 litres so I read on the site that you should put more yeast in for a higher gravity beer. It’s only 1 gram per litre so I was spot on at that. It is going like crazy at the moment so like you I am waiting for it to nearly finish fermenting before I add the gooseberries
