I've heard you comment on all the earlier _rumored_ folding Pixel phones for years and I'm so glad for you to finally have it. Looking forward to more content.

It's nice to see how excited you are for this... It's contagious! I hope that this will push the industry forward in a good way. People either want this (Normal phone with tablet inside) or something like the Motorola Razr+ (small phone with normal phone inside). I'm finally starting to get excited about foldable phone/devices.

Very excited for what Google is and will be doing. Their new Pixel and iphone friendship ads are hilarious as well!

After my experience with foldable phones I realized it's the same as back when LCD monitors had terrible side viewing angles. It slowly got better and better until where the tech is now. That's exactly how I see the crease in foldables. It's there, you can see it no matter which brand you go with. So I'm just waiting until that crease isn't noticeable anymore. I'm absolutely confident they will figure out a way to make the crease go away because otherwise the entire concept fails. It's the most obvious design flaw. I don't know how engineers will do it....but they will.

Nah, not even a hint of it.

Just reading on another site - his phone lasted 4 days before a mico-spec of something fried the oled screen. The screen is exposed around the edges.

I don't really understand why anyone would need this.

I do not have mine yet, but I am as excited as you are for it to arrive. I have the Z Fold 3 now, but not a fan of the long skinny closed phone. It is poorly balance. My favorite was the MS Surface Duo from several years ago. What a great device, but it died on me and I got the Z Fold 3. The Surface Duo form factor was amazing, even if some did not like the phone. I loved it. The Google Fold is the best of both worlds with the form factor similar to the Duo and now google invested in this form and software for the foldable. This phone will move the needle even more. I cannot wait. How is the Google Case in practice? I need to order a case soon. Thank for this unboxing video. Your excitement is contagious.

Technically if you upgrade every year or two.. and take care of your phone. Cut that price in half, plus any preorder deals that come with it. So I'd say more like 7-800

#Question One question i cannot find an answer for anywhere else is.... can you use the camera on the outside but have both inside and outside screens show the view? I liked this feature (camera preview) on the fold4. From all the videos i have seen on the pixel fold, it looks like you can only use one screen at a time while taking a photo.

I would love it, but I'd sooner spend the money on a high-end gaming laptop that will last me many more years than any smartphone would.

Nice review of the Pixel Fold. Too much $$ for me.

I don't hate google or their pixel phones cause I've actually had 3 in the last 6 years but I must say a trend I notice with (ALL) their phones is they don't age well. They get a ton of bugs and they slow down and heat up considerably unfortunately. I want them to do better in terms of performance and stability.

Nice to see your excitement. Let's see where you are in six months to a year. Not a device for me. I prefer a phone and a tablet as separate things. And my phone is already too bulky as it is. Plus, the aspect ratio looks unusable for most content. And the crease is very visible in the video.

Google has definitely had the best offer - $950 for my iPhone trade in plus free $400 Pixel watch. There are deals to be had for sure. AT&T doing $25/month (50% off) but trade ins suck and Verizon doing $900 off with trade in.

If the Samsung z fold had a wider outside screen it would be perfect... I had it for a week and returned it, I couldn't deal with how narrow that screen was it was brutal... I can't wait to get my pixel I'm excited. I don't understand why Samsung doesn't listen to everyone's complaints about that outside screen nobody likes it people tolerate it, it's such an odd design. However I do personally like Samsung's software I enjoy it looking forward to the pixel though

As an aside, I will never understand the notion that having glass on the back of the phone as "premium". Wow, another large surface area to break or crack!

I know you're a Google fan boy but I disagree with a few of your mentionings...if I'm buying a folding phone, I'm buying one to utilize the screen open as much as possible and to multitask, whether it be emails, documents, what have you. You said you don't like Samsungs skinny display - fair enough. A lot of people agree with you there. But that is why it's called a COVER display. To read and respond to a quick text (use Gboard Swipe-to-text), scroll through social media, etc. You also said Samsungs software isn't great - that's also your own opinion, but seeing how Google hasn't optimized apps with their 3rd party for the large screen is a bit embarrassing, especially for the price you're paying...And I would argue that Samsung does way more with their foldable software than Google which is what gives them the leg up. Also, it is disappointing that a lot of people will settle for the year old Tensor G2. For the price, the G3 should've shipped with it. Once Fold 5 launches with Snapdragon for Galaxy, it's going to blow Pixel Fold battery out of the park.

3:36 What are you talking about? Samsung software is the best, and the zfold is the most complete and perfect foldable. The perk is the outer display taking away from the true 2 in 1 form factor. Samsung has the best software that is feature rich and makes their fold complete they have the best multitasking software and the only foldable with stylus support. I don't understand why Google just won't add stylus support to any of their devices like not even their tablet and in 2023 it's given every tablet has stylus support.

It’s nice to see someone with a positive mindset reviewing the phone instead of the fairly negative angle like MKBHD.

Did you watch a different MKBHD video to me? He said he was daily driving the device in lieu of his 7 Pro and I got the impression he rather liked it. It's a reviewer's job (if they're not a paid shill) to point out the flaws and quirks of a device as much as the positives.

The first thing you said was how much you can do with the phone closed great keyboard size and such. I thought the point of a folding phone was to open it up, if not then what’s the point.

Interesting 'investment' for $1,800 - plus a Charger or three (Car, Work, Home, Office...)

I’m in love with this phone but this price is ridiculous. First gen phone at almost 2k? Even if I have the money to buy it I can’t justify paying that much for a phone that will probably deteriorate in a year
